Ok, I think I finally got this to work. Let's see...My name is LeighAnn. Mom to Jacob (5) and Caleb (3). I was invited here by my good friend Summer, Jetermomof2. I have been in Gainesville for 10 years now and getting ready to embark on the adventure of Kindergarten this year.

Hi My name is Dee...we've been in the Gainesville area for now 1 yr. My son was a student at UF but has quit due to this disability. UF is not really a wheel chair accessible campus. I'm his 24/7 caregiver and at times it is very hard to get out to do things. but i like to get out. we did go to the Elton John concert...awesome! Hope we can make new friends and see what is going on in Gainesville. I do like doing scrapbooking. its fun! More later!

I loved the concert!!! it was just a wonderful experience since I normally never go. I enjoyed listening to favorites live, etc... I did buy his DVD from his concert last year in NYC. I have not watched it yet, but I look forward to when I can.

Now I want to go to Vegas and see Cher, Bette Midler and Barry Manilow!! my love!! (LOL)

So, any plans yet to go to Vegas?

Hi, Dee, and welcome! I'm a mom on here, and I, too, love scrapbooking. You mentioned your son's disability...my younger brother has been in a wheelchair since he was 16 and managed to graduate from UF, as well as UF Law School....and my dear mother was his caregiver as well. Of course, I don't know the details of your son's disability, but I hate to hear of ANYONE giving up on their dreams of an education, so if you'd like to chat about it, I'm here. Or about scrapbooking, too, although with 3 little ones of my own, I'm semi-retired from it, LOL! At any rate, welcome aboard!

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am Mom to two. Macy will be 3 in May and Zane is almost 8 months. We don't live in G'ville now, but I was born and raised there and feel very close to the events and info. We moved to Nokomis about 5 years ago but still have family "back home" and visit when we can. Hi! My name is Amy. I've lived in Gainesville for 2 years now and I'm originally from Cincinnati. I have a 9 year old daughter, Julia, and a 4 and 2 year old sons, Cooper and Cameron. My husband and I both work at Gainesville Health and Fitness. I'm a pre and post pregnancy fitness specialist and I teach most of the mommy fitness classes. I also am in membership at the Women's Center in Thornebrook as well. If you ever have any questions about fitness please feel free to ask. This my passion and I don't mind helping at all. My Moms and Babies classes for new moms are Weds and Fri at 12:45p and Sat at 2p at the Women's Center in Thornebrook. My stroller class is Monday mornings at Thornebrook as well at 9am. My Moms in Motion pregnancy aqua class is at the main center on Saturdays at 10:30a.

What a neat website this is! We didn't have anything like this that I know of in Cincinnati. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better :-)

So, I assume that the "aqua" class is mommies and babies in the pool, right? I would LOVE to try this class although scared to put a swimsuit on..haha. I think I might come and try out that 2 p.m. class next weekend.

Has anyone else tried these mommy and me postpartum classes?

How's your littles? I've got to tell you some bad news- the Moms in Motion class in the pool is unfortunately for pregnant mommies BUT I teach other aqua classes as well and any of them you would love. water Aerobics is actually a really good workout. You'd really like Jodi, who teaches the 8am Aqua Pump class (a combination of cardio and strength) on MWF and the 5:30p Power Aqua class on Tues. and Thurs. with Annmarie. She's great too! Can you come to my stroller class Monday morning at Thornebrook? It's at 9am and I really want to see what you think :-) And if you want to try something different, Joanna Vajda, a labor and delivery nurse and yoga instructor, is teaching Yoga for Moms AND Babies at Tioga on Weds at 11a. I hope this helps! By the way, I've been telling my classes about your website. I hope they join if they haven't already.

Thanks so much for sharing the site with your classes! I really appreciate that. I work full time, so my only options would be weekends and evenings. I would love to try a Saturday class ASAP. I can barely stand being in my own body right now...haha.
