Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks only because the system wouldn't let me register. I thought I already had an account but I couldn't get it to work and it wouldn't let me create a new one. But now I'm finally in.

Someone posted a question about Disney and I jumped on it. So I replied there before introducing myself.

There's me, Genna (35), with DH, 2 sons (10 and 2) and twin daughters (7). I've lived in G'ville all my life. I'm a SAHM and I homeschool. I'm looking forward to interacting on the boards here.

I think the biggest challenge is having a toddler in the school room. But he is our official white board eraser, after all, so we wouldn't be nearly as efficient without him. Wink
My oldest just finished 4th grade and my girls wrapped up 2nd grade. I love homeschooling and it totally works for our family. It requires a commitment that I think many are not prepared for in the beginning. My biggest tip is to find a curriculum that works for your teaching style as well as your child's learning style. Some compromises should be expected. It can be very fulfilling as you work out the kinks; kind of like when you first became a mom Smiler

We homeschooled for a year but now we use an online public school. It's a nice compromise for me. I'm not the greatest at record keeping and they do all of that and we actually do all the schooling at home. This was our first year and it went pretty well, so we are going to do it for second grade as well.
