Hi there! My name is Rebecca and my son, Vance, is 6 weeks old! I am really excited I just stumbled onto this site while looking for cost information regarding Gainesville Health and Fitness (which I am still searching for if anyone can help me with that).

My son was born at The Women's Center at North Florida Regional Medical Center on April 16 with the help of my wonderful husband, Matt and our amazing midwife, Ann Marie.

I will be going back to work in a few weeks, but am certainly looking for other mom's to chat with, hang out with, etc. My husband and I have only been in Gainesville a year and lived in Hawthorne a good part of it. I used to work a job with 12 hour days 6 days a week (which I don't recommend, by the way) so we never had much time to get to know people in this area. Our families are around 8 hours away so it would be nice to have some new friends with similar interests.

It is nice to meet everyone and I look forward to checking out the page more often now!

I myself am a Wanna-be Gainesville Mom since I am currently located in Ohio, but I do love the site and know you will find the other parents on here not only welcoming but helpful. So glad you found the site. And btw, we just signed up for GHFC. It is roughly $80 a month. Kind of steep for us, but they do child care and my hubby is a SAHD, so he really needed the outlet. That, and with an 8 week old, I really need to get my body back in shape!
