I wanted to reply to this new mom's post:

"Hi! My name is Marianne and I'm a SAHM of 3 boys. Their ages are 6.5, 5, and 3. We just moved here from Los Angeles in January. My husband is the pastor of a new church starting up here, and I homeschool my kiddos. Glad to have found this site!"

So nice to meet you!! So, are you liking the area? I'd love to hear more about the church that your husband has startedSmiler ... and glad to have a home school mom here. I home schooled for a few years before I went back to work. It's a lot of work, but it's so worth it!

Hi,

I finally made it over here. I'm looking forward to looking around and getting to know all you Gainesville Moms. I'm a mom of 2 teenage girls that keep me busy but it seems that they were babies just yesterday...they grow up so fast!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Healthy Mom! So good to see you here! I know you have your hands full with two teenage girls! Does time really fly that fast? I can't imagine having teenagers, although my son is about to turn 10, which means in a few years, I will have a teenager. I still can't wrap my brain around that.

Hey, our boys will be teens before we know it! And driving..oh my gosh! What am I going to do then? I am envisioning some trips to the grocery store for momma. I'm sure he'll LOVE that!

My son will be 16 in less than two years and the thought of that scares me to death. All we hear about is cars, cars and more cars. And our response is job, job, job! They do grow way too fast and because I was sooo young when I had him, we have kind of grown up together. It doesn't seem real sometimes. Now I have an almost 2 year old girl and she is nothing like her brother was. He has always been a really good, laid back kid. She is the stubborn, "my way or the highway" type. Her teenage years are the ones that I am afraid of!

You know, my son is really laid back and my DD is the opposite! She is already a hand full at 7. So, I'm with you...not looking forward to her teenage years!

Hi. My name is Lauren Henehan. I am a life-long resident of Gainesville (except for my college career) and I am a first time mom to a beautiful 5.25 month old named Alyson. I went back to my job as a teacher 4 weeks after Aly was born. I am lucky to be able to work part-time. However, I also tutor, and due to being busy with work and having a new baby, I don't meet new people often. I thought joining this site would help me meet other moms and maybe find some activities that I can do with my daughter --I'll let my husband come along, too. Smiler We did go to the spring arts festival today (it's a family tradition) and had a wonderful time (anyone else go?) Thanks for making this site!

Lauren

Hey Lauren!
So nice to meet you. This is a great site to meet other local moms. We will be having our first meet-up on June 21. I'll be posting the details soon. I know that there are quite a few other moms on here with little ones your DD's age. So, how was the Spring Arts Festival? If my baby was not just 2 weeks old, we would have definitely been there!

Suzy

The meet-up sounds so great. Thank you for taking the time to organize something like this. The festival was nice. It seemed like there were less vendors this year for some reason. It was also a bit rainy which left it hot and muggy -- but overall it was a great time. I felt sorry for all of the artists trying to fight the weather. Today it was raining REALLY hard at my house. I hope all went well at the festival today. It is nice to meet you! Smiler

Hi, my name is Astrid and I have three older boys (17, 19 and 21) and a 6yr old girl. Live outside of G'ville on a farm. I have never participated in any online stuff but I wanted to try it. I haven't quite figured the site out yet but I am working on it.

Astrid-
It's so nice to meet you! And I'm kind of jealous that you live on a farmSmiler Must be a great place to raise a kid! We have quite a few other moms here with older kids and with younger ones, so this should be a great place for you to meet some other area moms online. We are having our first meet-up June 21, if you're interested. Please let me know if you have any questions at all! That's what I am here forSmiler

Oh, and may I ask you what raising three boys was like for you? I have three boys and one girlSmiler
