As many SAHD and even dads who are committed to their wives/kids, havig their own site would not hurt. I bet men would be more comfortable with their own type of conversations.

You can always start one on yahoo groups or something like that if Gainesville Sun won't do it.

I started a Yahoo group for dads whose children have disability and it really did well in growth. It is private, but it gave the dads a chance to talk about things that normally would be uncomfotable to talk about at other sites. I had originally created Mom's Cafe for mom's who children had muscular dystrophy and we have over 80 moms/female caregivers there and we discuss things there that normally they would be afraid to talk about at other MD sites.

So there are advantages of having sites like this. To me...its a wonderful way to share moral and emotional support. Places we can meet to take time off adn to laugh. and laughter is a good thing. I'm sure men need this type of "support" or time off from time to time as well.

I think Hubbylife has a good thing going about having a forum for dad's. He can run it Wink! or another dad. How about Nathan? Go for it!

HubbyLife, Nate, do you still do days at the park or any other type of meet-ups? I need to get my DH/SAHD out of the house some, especially later this summer after the boys' Summer Time Fun programs ends...Nate, love the blog! Smiler

Thanks for the kind words, Trips.

I'll tell ya this -- my days at the park have been ruined by this excessive heat! By ten AM mosty of the equipment is hot to the touch. So I've been doing alternate play sites, like the mall, the library, the pool, etc. etc.

But we still are going out somewhere almost every day, just to get out of the house. And I'm always game to meet up with some other dads!

MY FAVORITE PLACE AND ALWAYS WILL BE DURING THE SUMMER; THE MALL. THEY CAN PLAY AS MUCH AND AS HARD AS THEY LIKE AND THERE ARE SO MANY KIDS THEY CAN PLAY WITH. MY SON IS REALLY ENTERTAINED BY THE CROWD OF KIDS. Razzer
HUBBY SAID AS SOON AS HE GETS HIS SCHEDULE ORGANIZED AND FIGURE OUT WHAT DAY HE CAN ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING HE'LL CONTACT YOU.
I ACTUALLY THINK HE'S ALONGATING THE SITUATION. I WAS JUST TRYING TO DO SOMETHING NICE FOR HIM SINCE HE'S ALWAYS WORKING AND WORRING ABOUT THE KIDS. LOL I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW ELSE TO MAKE HIM TAKE SOME TIME FOR HIMSELF.
