There isn't a GainesvilleDads.com, but there are a handful of dads who frequent this site that might help him find a few places/groups he likes.

What do you say dads?

I think Nathan does the blogs on dads too. I know he is a SAHD...but he and few other dads do post on here but not sure what activities dads plan.

There are def. dads that come here and post... comb through some of the old topics and you will see they started a few topics about dad groups.

I am sure they would all love to go to chucky cheese in ocala, that is such a dad thing. Games, pizza, who could ask for more?!

Dad's definitely need to do something. My hubby said he definitely would go to chucky cheese. I didn't think he would like the idea, but you were right Freyja, he loved the idea. Weird !!!We need to do this for them seriously !!!

just a suggestion, but any dad's trip out needs to be to a place where there are no kids!

My husband is searching for a tennis partner. We moved to Gainesville 2 years ago...it feels like we are still getting settled into the town though as we spent the first two years remodeling our house and having baby #2. Does anyone have a hubby who wants a tennis partner to play one evening a week? He prefers Westside park as we live on the NW side of town. Perhaps one of the Dad's on this site would be interested?? He also needs a golf partner Smiler...however, that is expensive..I am good w/ the tennis as it is better exercise, so if you play golf..let's keep that a secret Smiler.

I can't see Dads posting regularly on a site like ours if there were one but I could be wrong. My hubby is a little young (23 today!) and does most of his social planning through school at UF and facebook. There is a basketball club he belongs to and they meet regularly...sometimes too regularly so be careful what you wish for! LOL! It's really great though for them to get out, bond, and get out some of their energy and I support Nathaniel's "no kids" suggestion. You don't want him burnt out on kids when he comes home to yours!

Even if he goes out once every 2 weeks is good with me. It's just he's 27 and he's got no friends and really concerns me. He had a bestfriend way back when, but once he married his friend completely cut him off. He's into basketball and football. There was this group that used to meet up every saturday morning and play football for a couple of hours, but they stoped. And I was ok with it. He just needs to get active again and meet new people that's all. I like the whole tenis thing, but really he's not into it. But I'll definitly ask him; it doesn't hurt to try.

Does he have a membership a GHFC? They play basketball Tuesday ad Thursday morning starting at 6 a.m. they also play in the evenings. If he would like we could put something together that would be more suitable to his time. I am a big basketball and football guy. It should be simple to put together. I agree with Nathaniel about the kids.

We could start something that would be monthly just like Suzy started for the ladies. That seems to be a big hit for the moms as they have a really good time.

We don't have a GHF membership. It's a bit pricy for our budget right now/ But I think he'll definitly would like to do anything that has to do with those 2 sports.

PICK-UP BASKETBALL
Men's pick-up basketball every Tuesday and Friday at 6:30 am. Lockers and showers are available.

This is at Westside Baptist Church on West Newberry road. They also have a pretty good adult sports ministry. I played in the flag football league and it was really fun. You do not have to be a member to play in any of the leagues. I attend First Assembly. I would meet with him at this time if it is o.k. with him. http://www.westsidebaptist.org/templates/cuswestsidebc/...?id=32671&PID=555064
This is the website for the sports ministry.
