I got this from my coupon group too. I thought I would redeem myself after the christopher banks thing....
if you are feeling a bit of a choc fix… FIVE MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE 4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for three minutes at 1,000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only five minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! |

OMG GIrls this is dangerous.
I have a 1200 w microwave so I cut the cook time to 2:20, and should have gone with 2:00. It didn't burn, but it is a little overdone (of course, I will still eat it for the sake of science). And if you have one of those "Friend's" style mugs, use that. That's what I used and I can't see mixing it in a smaller mug. Also, it doesn't go over the top in that one. But other than those things definately try it. It really is a good treat. I just wish I had some french vanilla ice cream..... |

hmmm.... I don't have cocoa for baking, wonder how a vanilla mug cake would turn out? I am or course willing to volunteer in the name of science as well. I think maybe cream instead of milk? this sounds like a fun weekend way to spend 5 minutes at a time!!
Thanks Caryn! |
