wonder if anyone has a good recipe for Potato Soup?

I know Campbells sells a nice can of it, but nothing like a fresh pot of potato soup.

I usually like a lot of onions in mine when I make it, but curious to another great recipe.

Nate makes a great baked potato soup kinda like they make at Hops with the cheese and bacon on top. YUM.

Speaking of recipes, I need help. I'm throwing that baby shower for my friend on Saturday. We were just going to grill out but there is no grill on site at the clubhouse but there is a kitchen. I don't want to spend too much money but am having trouble coming up with a nice but inexpensive meat idea. I've played around with the idea of shish kabobs and maybe lime/honey chicken wings. Does anyone have any ideas or recipes?

Dee-I got a GREAT and easy to make potato soup recipe from watching Paula Deen on the Food Network. You can log onto their website and search for 'potato soup with shrimp' for her recipe. You don't have to add the srhimp, but it is SO good with them (and without, I've made a few varieties on her recipes) and best of all, it is super easy!! It does not freeze well but I never seem to have much leftover Big Grin

Kristin - are you doing a sit down type meal or more finger food/walk around thing?

I just made some AWESOME clam chowder tonight. I used the Bear Creek Clam Chowder mix (sold on the soap aisle at publix) and added two cans of clams (w/ the juice) and cooked it per the package directions. It was SO good! My husband loves clam chowder and even he thought it was devine! Best of all, the kiddies slurped it down. I cooked dinner for the entire family in 15 minutes, they ate it and loved it and the total cost was only $6..cannot beat it Smiler.

wow Lew that is awesome!! I really wish I was better in the kitchen. I can cook just fine as long as I have a recipe, but I am just not daring enough, so afraid of messing something up.

I am definitely going to try some of these soup recipes, though! I love potato soup!

I LOVE clam chowder!!! I am definitely gonna try to make that. I've never made it myself but I do enjoy the good experiment! That's the key Stacy--don't take yourself too seriously in the kitchen and just have fun! No pressure allowed on she who provides the meal.
