Gainesville 4: Boy (10), Girl (7), Boy (23 months), Boy (3 months) |
But, I do watch what I eat and try to make wise decisions about my food choices. Since this weight is not just falling off like it did with the first baby (go figure, right?, I am having to really watch that I am eating more fresh, non-processed foods. But I really had to make a point to do this, because it's easy to eat terribly when you are taking care of every one else.
Anyone else having to deal with food/weight/lifestyle issues right now? I have to get back in the gym, too. When, when will I find the time for this? <a href="http://lilypie.com"><img src="http://b1.lilypie.com/NzoMm7.png" alt="Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker" border="0" /></a> |

2 girls (3 and a half, and 9 months) |
My friend was just down from Philly for the weekend, and we hadnt seen each other in about 6 months. He asked me how I had lost weight and slimmed down (its just a little, he might have been exaggerating)
I told him it was easy -- with a 3 year old and a 6 month old, i simply don't have time to eat very often. once a day, maybe twice. Also, I'm constantly chasing, running, playing, picking up stuff, not to mention picking up and holding the girls who get heavier by the day. Im glad I dont have to make time to work out, because it just wouldnt happen. it COULDNT. I havent the time or the energy When I do have time to exercise, I do yoga -- not to develop my body, just to stretch out my back, which always hurts due to the aforementioned daily duties! |

Two boys, ages 3 and 1 |
I've found that the only way I succeed at dieting or exercise is to make short-term goals for myself. After my youngest was born I decided to run a 5K that was five months away. I worked toward that goal and accomplished it, then my running routine fell apart because I had nothing to look ahead to. Now I have a wedding to go on the beach in 30 days. So having to be in a bathing suit that weekend is motivating me for the next month, then I guess I'll be looking for my next goal.
Nate, unfortunately my 3-year-old is a bottomless pit who snacks all day long. So when I'm with him, I snack all day long. Except I don't have the energy to run it off all day long like he does! |

Sarah, my 3 year old similarly snacks all day. However (this is really strange) i try to feed her healthy food, and I personally despise healthy food -- so I dont partake in the crackers, cereal, berries, nuts, bananas, and fruit chews.
I will get down on a peanut butter and jelly sammich sometimes, though. (although that is less about the taste and more about singing the "Its Peanut Butter and Jelly Time" song. Which NEVER gets old) |

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (17) son (8) girl (5) |
I am starting to make changes. I dropped 40-50 lbs after my son was born. Now I need to drop more than that.
I will go back to what I did before, but it will take more commitment since I am not a stay at home mom anymore. I will eat healthier more balanced proportions. With the food prices going up, this will help my wallet too. I also plan to start walking again. I used to walk up to 3 miles a day. I need to start doing that again. This is going to one of my self improvement projects this summer. Tammy |

NW Gainesville 3 boys (1-3 y/o and 2 -1y/o's) and a step-mom and step-grandma, too! |
I had lost about 40 pounds back in '05 - '06. And it stayed off for quite a while; however, I spent 7 months in 2007 with walking pneumonia, and my exercise routine went out the window. So now the weight has started to creep back up. Now, with the move and two new babies, I'm like everyone else...where to find the time (and the energy).

Wow Nate, I thought I was the only one that sang the "peanut butter and jelly" song! That's awesome.
