Jumping Rope/Jump Roping...what is it? Anyway this is my "lose the baby weight" idea and I'm thrilled with it so far. I started doing 10 min a day (I'm quite out of shape) and next week will do 20. It's awesome! My calves are super sore after 2 days and I don't have a scale but I feel better and think the tummy looks smaller. I needed something to do in the house. I don't have a gym membership (it really is expensive) and am not motivated to pack him up (this takes almost an hour when you count feedings and last-minute diaper changes) and drive over there on a daily basis. Jump roping I do when he is sleeping or just in his bouncey and it's day 3 and perfect for us! Join me in my 20 min/day Jump Rope Challenge and at the end of the month I'll let you know how much weight I've lost and may even be brave enough to post a before and after pic!

Wow. I think you've convinced me. Usually I run, but there are some nights where I just can't fit in a whole half-hour or hour (we splurged on a treadmill for our house a couple years ago -- it was money well spent). Ten minutes would be perfect!

If I head to Target this weekend -- which I always do -- maybe I'll pick one up.

Kids LOVE this! There are even some March of Dimes jump rope events we can look forward to in the future. I'll try to find some.

OK. I started today, and that $3 jump rope kicked my butt! I went 5 minutes, then had to take a short break before doing the other 5. I can already tell I'm gonna be sore in the morning.

I bought one as well. However, It is a bit too short for me. I am going to give it to my son and get a longer one for me Smiler. It was fun though. I did not make it 10 minutes, or 5 for that matter. I will try again w/ a new rope Smiler.
