Thank you everyone! It's nice to hear I'm not the only one who had/has a problem. All my friends who had babies recently dropped all the weight quickly (sometimes plus some), but they didn't nurse so I was feeling a little down about it all, but I still enjoy nursing and know it's best for my daughter. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't the only one who didn't lose the baby weight within the first 3 months. :-)

No, the weight didn't drop for me either with BFing. It was much easier after I stopped nursing. Although as soon as I stopped nursing #1, I got pregnant with #2. Then with #3 I put on a lot of weight and didn't lose a lot of it until after I stopped nursing him at age 1. I guess my body wanted to hold on to some reserves

It was really hard for me to see my friends who had babies and got right back to their skinny old selves shortly after birth.

I breastfed both my kids and they were ten pounds and nine pounds at birth respectively. I couldn't lose the wieght either. Those strollers that have bicycle wheels would have done the trick! I had to struggle in the early eighties with ones that the wheels always jammed. Also a diet of 80% fresh fruits and vegetables give dramatic results and you will feel energetic too! Stay calm, get plenty of rest, and don't eat after 5pm when our cortisol levels go up and we can gain mid-waist fat. And remember to take time and enjoy that beautiful child, i wish i would have enjoyed it more.
