Well, today I started the 21 day detox diet that Oprah Winfrey is also doing. The diet looks really healthy and 21 days is not that long right? Anyone care to join me? We can share our experiences online, share tips etc! I will copy the link below if you want to learn more about it! I have been trying to lose 15lbs for 1.5 yrs and it is not happening!!!! W/ Baby #1 I lost it all very fast and actually went down 10lbs below where I started! W/ Baby # 2, I have the 10lbs back plus an additional 5lb-10lb depending on the day! The diet requires giving up coffee! I cannot live w/o that jolt. So, I am switching to green tea as that is cleansing and still give a kick to a very tied mom! I like the concept of a short term 21 day goal...we will see Smiler.

my diabetes dr. put me on a 30 day shock diet...no carbs, period!

i could not have diary, no rice, no potatoes, no bread, no fruit, no cereal, nothing that i live on...but you know after the first week it wasn't so bad. i used to wake up in the night starving like i hadn't eaten in days. since i've broken the carb cravings, i sleep through the night. it's wonderful.

part of the diet was to drink these energy shakes that i get in the diet foods section at Sams. like the adkins shakes. they have a lot of protein. he said when you take out carbs, you must replace with protein. so i get lots of red meat, lots of lettuce, the darker the better and i've added back in some diary. he's not happy but i have to have some cheese now.

anyway, good luck! losing 11 pounds has made me feel so much better, i have a bad leg and my joints even feel better. i have more energy too. 34 more to go!

I would LOVE to join you. Maybe we could start next Monday as to give people a chance to join. That, and the picnic is Saturday. Let me know what you think.

Me, personally; I just can't do it. I preffered the Atkins diet; much more simpler and rich in proteins, just don't eat fried meats it defeats the purpose of dieting and you'll probably end up with a heart attack.
Good Luck to ya'll and it does get better after 1st week. Wink

well...the diet was too hard for me to stick to (big surprise), so I modified it slightly! I am allowing myself wheat and a small amount of meat/seafood. I can have all of the fruits/veggies/whole grain brown rice I want. I am also eating Kashi cereal w/ soy milk for breakfast. I used to skip breakfast and I am finding this has been a good change...less hungry during the day. I am also working out three days a week again...I previously took a 3 month break due to too much stuff going on..still have all the same stuff going on, just working in the exercise again. Sad to report, that I have not lost a pound Smiler.
