I just came across an article that said in a survey of about 1,000 women, 64 percent said shopping for clothes is bad for their self-confidence. And 10 percent even said they have cried in a dressing room! (Click here.)
I can't say that I've cried in a dressing room, but I can relate when it comes to searching for every flaw when trying on clothes. Each time I stand under those bright dressing rooms lights, I find so many new flaws!
Maybe it's the mirrors...(or the fact that I've gained a couple pounds)
I HATE shopping for swim suits because of my fat thighs and huge chest. I also get very frustrated when shopping for button down shirts. My chest is too big for my size. Right now I wear about a 12 - 14 in pants and a large in cotton shirts. But when purchasing button down shirts, I typically have to go up to about a size 14/16. Then, it's a toss up as to whether the shirt actually fits properly since I'm short as well. UGH!!
My Mom gave me $50 for my birthday and told me to spend it on myself. So, my sister and I went shopping and I found this absolutely perfect dress! I LOVED the way it fit me everywhere! So, I used the money to buy the dress. What am I going to where it for??? I have no idea. It's too dressy to where in an office setting if I return to work. Maybe a wedding I haven't been invited to yet, hehe! It just fit too perfectly, I couldn't possibly not buy it.
Casmly...I was in the identical situation with two exceptions: The dress was on clearance (which made it dirt cheap) and it was my favorite color!!!! I too bought the dress. And a couple of months later, my BF got tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Orlando. The silver shoes I bought to go cost more than the dress

EVERY DAY I try to get into my old clothes. I don't know why I do it because at 6 weeks post partum it just ain't workin' and it ends up making me scream, "I'm FAT" in utter frustration. I don't dare go shopping!
hehe I to have a dress that I had to have but will never wear but I love it anyway. And shopping err the things you love wont fit and the things that fit I'd rather not spend the money on lol I'm picky

Mary, I did that too after my first. I kept hoping that something would change and one day, poof, I'd be back to normal. The second time around I was smarter, I didn't even try to wear my pre-pregnancy clothes until about 8 weeks (and even then it was the clothes that I knew ran a little bigger). I just didn't need that pressure.
