Hollywood florida 1 lil' boy hes 18 months old |
I'm having a problem.
Since I gave birth to my son almost 17 months ago I had bad pain in my pelvic area. After seeing many doctors with no answers I went to the er.The doctor there was a huge jerk and wouldn't speak to me but sent a nurse in with a piece of paper saying I had PID so I went through a round of treatment for it but the pain didn't go away so I went to my general doctor who put me on a second round of treatment the pain still persisted but this doctor said he wasn't 100% sure it was PID and didn't want to treat me a thrid time so he referred me to a gyno name Dr.Bartley in gainesville and he then had me get a sonogram again and said I did not have PID but that my uterus is fused to my adominal wall from the c-section he said the only way to fix it is surgery but since I plan to have another baby I could wait til I have another c-section to get it removed now here is my problem. It hurts really bad and i dont think I could go through another pregnancy with this pain and then my fiance lost his job and hes looking for a new one but theres no way were ganna get pregnant any time soon we will wait til were back on our feet and also my insureance is up at then end of this month and I'm not even sure they would pay for the surgery if I could get it this month. So has anyone been though a similar thing and what do you think I really need some opinions or advice or something i just am at my wits end |

I would think that even though your insurance is up at the end of the month, you should still be fully insured whether it was up this month or next year. If at all possible, it might be worth it to get into surgery this month. It's probably not worth the pain to wait it out until you have another baby.

I have not had this exact issue (despite two c-sections). However, I did need surgery in 2006 due to a large cyst on my ovary. I was very nervous about the surgery and was very tempted to put it off. I got the recommendation of a wonderful doctor and I mean WONDERFUL!!!! If you are looking to get another opinion, I would recommend Dr. Jennifer Hayes in Tampa. If you do opt for the surgery, I would also highly recommend her!

Why take the chance? and the extra pain? Get the surgery.
Waiting until you have more children is an option but an indefinite one. Why take the chance something else wont happen/arise medically till then? If you are worried about insurance, opt sooner than later, and whatever isn't covered work on payment plans... even if worse comes to worse and it goes to collections...that is better than taxed health. It would be very rare to be debt free forever, better for a good reason like hardship or medical than negligence. Just an opinion. Good luck. |

I have to agree with everyone...I wouldn't put it off. If you can get it down before the insurance runs out..they would have to cover it. Problem being is if you let this insurance run out and then start a different policy later...this would be considered a pre-existing condition and they may not cover it...that is what happened with my best friend. You may be able to continue your current policy if you get the COBRA coverage when your's ends...it depends on why it is ending. If it is because of no longer working for an employer, you can get it. It is a little more expensive though.
There is no reason to suffer any longer than you have to...especially since you don't know when you would be getting pregnant again. |

I know that many moms forget how difficult pregnancy and delivery was after seeing their baby so take it from someone who went through a few days ago and still remembers...it is sooooooooooo hard. You want to go into this 100% with no added complications/pain. This is your decision and you have to have peace about it but it sounds like you are batting for the surgery team and I wouldn't second-guess yourself. Good luck...it will all work out in the future so take care of yourself while you can.

God bless you. What a lot you are dealing w/ at this time.
GET THE SURGERY NOW while you have insurance. Many pre-existing conditions are not covered should you wait until you get a new policy. Explain to the doctor your situation and I am quite sure any decent doctor will get you scheduled in (for surgery) quickly or at least refer you to a doctor who can do the surgery quickly. And the mother who gave the advice about having the surgery regardless and working out a payment plan with the hospital/doctor is right on the money! Most of us would not think twice about payment plans for new cars; your health is more important than any car or house or whatever else people accummulate debt. Due to a doctor error, we were charged $600 more for a hospital procedure than what we had expected. We OWED the money, but at that time (years ago) we didn't have the $600 to pay. I contested the charge due to the quote I had initally been given (verbally) and said I would NOT be paying the extra $600 because we simply didn't have the money. I soon received a letter from the hospital; they had cut my bill in half ($300). I complained that the amount was still too much for us and soon received a second and final letter cutting the amount down to $150, which I paid by using a credit card. My credit rating was not affected. Hospitals and doctor's offices WILL work out payment plans and will negotiate on the amount you owe; it takes time and it's frustrating, but it happens all the time. You don't know what the future holds other than MORE PAIN unless you take care of your health issue. I am sure there are those who love you and depend upon you. YOU should be the focal point of your life at this time and debt should by your last concern. If you won't do this for YOU than PLEASE do it for those who are counting on you and who need you (a wonderful and needy son comes to mind |

having your uterus fused to the abdominal wall is not something that you should wait to have corrected. it is scar tissue and scar tissue only grows. i had ovarian cysts several years ago and two had to be removed. when they removed them, they said the scar tissue from the previous cysts was what was actually causing my pain.
if you want a second opinion, call Dr. David Stewart. He is a wonderful man, very cautious, but does not believe in women sufferring needlessly. it sounds like the surgery can be done as an out patient or maybe only require an overnight stay. please do not allow finances to dictate your healthcare. arrangements can always be made ahead of time and they do not reflect negatively on your credit report. |
