What can be done about exercise? I am so busy, like most people and I lack motivation!!
How can you get a really good simple workout with 2 kids? I have tried taking them on a walk, but I don't feel like it is doing anything when I have to stop 3-4 times and walk at their pace

I have the same problem...I have a bunch of workout videos...but I never do them. I was hoping when we moved into this house that I would walk more and lose weight...instead I have gained 12 lbs in the last year! ACK! I think I may start walking again though...I used to walk all over our old neighborhood and there were no sidewalks or anything. I have heard pilates is really good for you...I bought a dvd set at Big Lots...when I try it out I will let you know Smiler

I am so bad with workout dvds. I have all the good intentions, but never follow through.
I would love to workout at my pace and not the kids, but I haven't found a solution when I am either at work, school or taking care of the kids.

Has anyone tried a treadmill in their home? How does it work for you?

I have heard that a treadmill at home works great. I would LOVE to have one in my home and may work on getting one. Have you tried any of the local gyms?

I haven't tried any gyms. They are usually out of my price range, and in gainesville, which would mean an 2nd trip into town (I live in Hawthorne) and having 2 kids is another problem, especially on school nights.
We do have a gym in hawthorne and I have heard it is pretty good, but still the time issue and I don't think there is anywhere the kids can do wihle I work out.

I recently started walking/jogging in my neighborhood, but yesterday 3 big dogs were loose (one was a Rot) and the rot barked at me. I was scared! So, now I'm considering a treadmill. I'll have to wait for our tax return Smiler For a while I did do Tae Bo dvd's. They worked great, but I lacked motivation. I would love to join a gym - anyone a member of the YMCA? What do you think?

i had a clothes rack, i mean treadmill in my home for a long time, then i moved it to my office at work...i have a large walk in closet that it fit nicely in, then i closed the door.

the key is motivation...it won't matter if the treadmill is in front of the tv, if you are not motivated, it won't matter what dvds you have or where your treadmill sits...

I have an eliptical machine and it got a ton of use when I first purchased it but it hasn't been dusted off now since 08.

I am an avid bike rider. Riding 12 miles once a week on the Hawthorne trail trying to work up to 30 miles. I also incorporated a "stadium" work out 2 times a week and make a point to walk at least 30 to 45 minutes a day. It is hard to get motivated but after losing 70 pounds, I refuse to gain it back.
