I'm just curious because I never got them done, but I've noticed a trend in professional pregnancy photos. Has anyone done them? Why, or why not?

My very posh sister-in- law did and it is vrey popular. I did not, as I just did not feel like it at the time. I had my husband take plenty of belly photos for each baby and I think that will be fun to show the kids Smiler

I did it about two weeks before I had my son and it was the best photography experience of my life.

My photographers, husband and wife team, were playing Celine Dion "Miracles" cd and while he was shooting, my son was moving and kicking so many of the photos we have in our album our smiles are because the baby was moving and it was so special. Very, very emotional experience. It may be beacause we only plan on having one child and it was like our only time to do this. But, I think I would feel the same if it was a 2nd or 3rd pregnancy.

Just my experiance.

My husband and I got them done with both of my pregnancys. We actually got a montage, 3 pictures on one sheet, and framed them. We also personalized the pictures with our daughter's names, and due times (since I was due in the middle of the month each time, we did the month and year). We still have them hanging in our house, and it's a nice memory to look at them everytime we walk by.

I did not get any professionally, but I kind of wish I would have. I really enjoyed pregnancy, so I think I would look at the pictures very fondly. We do have quite a few candids of me with a belly that I love -- a handful of me at the beach with my older son are very cute.

I did get pregnancy photos done with both of my pregnancies, and i tell you, it is a great memory! I never get tired of looking at them! I got them done at about 31 weeks woth both pregnancies, and it is fun to see how different my pregnancies have been! My first daughter loves looking at them, and my husband and I love to see them as well. I got a lot of the pics all over my house, and everytime someone walks in, that is the hot topic of the night! I think that all pregnant women should have them done!
Both of the times that I did them I went to the same studion, JS Photography, you can look them up online www.jsphoto.com and go to the maternity series, and tere are some of my families pictures up there. You will enjoy it, I say got for it, have yours taken!!!

I am having these pictures done this week actually. One of my close childhood friends is now a wedding/engagement/pregnancy photographer and the business is apparently booming! I was a little nervous as first but she explained it's a great way to remember your pregnancy beautifully and to have to show your children when they are older to show how important that time was to you.

I LOVE maternity photos... they are my favorites to take because pregnant women are so beautiful! When I personally was pregnant I didnt do them... mostly because I was not really into showing off my growing belly! Now looking back I wish I had more photos done... maybe next time....
