Can we talk about this? I've been watching "Birthday" and "Deliver Me" on cable almost every day in preparation for my upcoming labor and for fun. However, I've noticed a trend that nearly all the men say in their interview that the most difficult thing about their women being with child is the lack of sex. Many women don't have relations the entire pregnancy. Some are restricted due to doctor's orders but all the ones I've seen just don't feel like it so they don't. Now this is certainly understandable but is it fair? I have my opinions having been prego now for 40 weeks and counting but I want to know yours first!

I'll answer this. I just had my second baby almost three months ago. I think it depends on how often the men are requesting it. I certainly didn't feel up to having sex for the last month or two but I could get over it occasionally. If my husband asked for sex every day, I would have probably laughed at him. I feel fortunate that I have a husband who understood how sore and grouchy I was so he didn't push the issue. We probably has sex once or twice a week...sometimes less.

I was one of the the pregnant women feeling the exact opposite. My hormones went crazy and I wanted more. Don't know if I am a rare exception though.

There is something about feeling, fat, tired, & sweaty (if you are pregnant in the summer in FL-like I was) that really does not do much for the libido.

Some of you have some very lucky husbands! I have libido drought...however, I have very high expectations for my husband. I have only been married since January but have already had an eye-opening experience regarding men and sex. I expect my husband to handle every craving, tantrum, hormonal outburst and bout of tears with kindness, gentleness, and complete disregard for his own feelings/cause. Even if I'm snapping his head off I want him to offer it graciously and make sure I enjoy my snack. I don't even care if I'm unreasonable or irrational because I've been prego for 10 months watching him play basketball, ski on the lake every week, and eat every meal without one bout of nausea. I'm even jealous he can put on his own shoes! I discovered, however, that he cannot be this superman without the relaxation and release sex brings him. It's not always going to be the intimate, fireworks experience novels are written about but it gets results! For both of us. This may sound too practical but it's working for us. Thank you brave ones for your candor on an all-too-often taboo subject.
