Okay, I know how silly this is going to sound, but yesterday I was driving to work from my doc appointment and what was I obsessing over? The hospital gown. Not the pain of labor, not when I would go into labor. None of that good stuff. I kept thinking...do I have to wear that gown? I hate wearing the gown.

Wait, can I make it any more clear? I DESPISE the hospital gown. It makes me super, super uncomfortable. I hate the buttons. It always falls of off me in the wrong places and it doesn't help that I am a germ-o-phobe (especially with this pregnancy for some reason.)

So, can I refuse the gown? What do you guys think? (I know you I am obsessing over the wrong thing, but entertain me for a moment, okay?)

Smiler

I don't think it is hospital regulation that you have to wear the gown. I wore it during the birth and the day after, just because of the yuckies that you get right after birth, but after I was able to shower and get clean again, I put on my own clothes.
I don't think they really care what you are wearing at the hospital, as long it is not your birthday suit! Smiler

I LOVE the bullseye idea. But can you just imagine how the hospital will charge my insurance for that? I wonder what they would "code" that; and how much they would charge for a gown? Because you know they would do it, too!

I have always gone to the hospital and had the nurse hand me a gown and say "Here, put this on."

So, do you guys dare me to say no...lol.

You are completely free to deny the gown! I wore my own shirt (a longer one) for my last two hospital births and no one said a thing.

Meagan,
So nice to meet you! I am so glad to hear that the gown is not a requirement. I am going to take your lead and show up with a big (and comfy) t-shirt!
