Today my midwife told me about this European product for stretch marks and scars. Now I did cocoa butter every day, twice a day and still ended up with a belly full of shiny marks so the theory that it's genetic is true but I'm willing to try anything. Has anyone else ever used this product? I'm running out to the drug store now to get it since I knew the marks were ugly but no one told me how painful they were!

OK so I know I'm talking to myself right now but that's fine! I did get my oil and it is very oily but soothing. I'll let you know if it's the secret miracle we've all been looking for...

MaryKay makes a cream that is very pink and gooey. it comes as a part of the satin hands collection but back in the day when my daughter was born you could buy it seperately, you may be able to still.

i used it for stretch marks and a world of other ailments...but other than jesus himself coming and rubbing out my stretch marks...55 pounds in nine months will ruin the tender skin of a skinny little 20 year old brat! but i love them now, she looks at them and say OMG, is my skin going to do that one day? i tell her only if she is lucky!

I actually like the oil a lot. It is very natural and soothing. I agree that these marks are here to stay but the oil keeps them from itching and the pain eases as well. They are my war wounds and I am working on bearing them with pride. Of course it wouldn't hurt to see the baby that I bear them for...I'm sure that will help.

Is it supposed to work on old stretch marks? I used cocoa butter almost every day of both of my pregnancies but I still got stretch marks. I don't have any on my belly but I have them on my hips and thighs. I recently saw an advertisement for something through Avon that I'm curious about too.

There is no cure for stretch marks. You get them or you don't, based on hormones/genetics. My mother never had them, but my father did when he gained weight. My sister never got them, but I did (a 10 1/2 baby didn't help mattersSmiler).

Stretch marks don't go away unless you have them surgically removed; however, they fade over time...turing to a silvery color instead of pink, etc. To lessen the chance of getting large stretch marks, doctors suggest you keep your body VERY hydrated with water. Keeping your skin soft and supple apparently helps (but doesn't prevent).

If you are happily married and like who you are as a person, you'll most likely lose all concern for stretch marks as you age. My husband never cared; when he sees them he smiles and mentions the two children we had together. I can't change my body makeup so I have never let them bother me. Won't wear a two piece since our son kicked me so high and hard that they go over my belly button, but in the big scheme of life that doesn't even make the radar screenSmiler
