Does anyone know if there is a place to buy nursing bras in the area? I would really love to be fitted for one. I nursed my son for 15 months and my nursing bras did not hold up well. I plan on nursing my daughter for at least a year. Can anyone recommend a good bra?

There's a place in the Oaks Mall Plaza called 'Especially for Women' that has a few different options (if I remember they were around $30 each). The only problem I've run into is that the good quality nursing bras are supportive, but very thin. I also bought a few at Motherhood in the mall, but the quality doesn't even come close and they don't have as much of a size range.

Thank you. When I get closer to my due date I think I will check out 'Especially for Women'. Do you know what brands they sell?

I don't know what brands are available in the stores around Gainesville, but Bravado makes an excellent nursing bra. Supportive but still pretty. You can buy them online, but of course, you wouldn't be able to try them on. A lactation consultant told me to buy a bra that fit perfectly on the very last hook because your rib cage will shrink after you give birth and because the bra will sstretch and you'll need to be able to cinch it in. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the advice.I know my old nursing bras did not fit me properly. I have heard that Bravado is a great nursing bra.

Kaya,
Did you have any luck finding a good nursing bra?

I was going to wait till I get further into my third trimester. With my son I gained 80lbs and I'm in my 25th week and have already gained 30 lbs!! So I'm going to wait till I get a little closer to get a good fit. I think I'm going to check out the Especially for Women store. I will let you know. Do you find any luck with a specific nursing bra?

I actually haven't had to use a nursing bra, since I have been unable to nurse following a breast reduction surgery. I will try again with this pregnancy, but with the last, it was virtually impossible. I am currently wearing a comfortable, stretchy cotton maternity bra that I bought at Sear's. I loved it so much (no snaps, no hardware) that I was wearing the same bra even when not pregnant. It is just so comfy! As far as support, I give it a C. After my surgery, I did not need as much support. I had no idea that I was getting a lift along with my reduction. Didn't realize that until right before my surgery. But you you don't hear me complaining about that, now do you?
