What do you think? I personally don't like the idea! I think children should be children and should dress like children! I think it's way to grown up for them! They said these shoes only come in one size, 0-6 month, someone somewhere is gonna take that idea and drive it all the way up through toddler and school age children!
I really do not see this as being a trend, probably just one person's, rather wierd, idea. Personally, I could not wait to dress my babies in all the cute age appropriate clothes on the market. I still get a big kick out of dressing them cute. I am in no hurry for them to wear grown up clothes!
I thought you HAD to be joking until I did an Internet search. Oh, 'creepy" doesn't begin to describe it!
Ask any male about women's high heels and he will almost always tell you that the heels are SEXY. And they are meant to be; they simply make us stand more erect as they push our butts up and out.
There is not one credible podiatrist or doctor of any kind who will say heels are GOOD for us women (or men). They cause many problems in women; some of those problems develop later in life after years of walking in heels.
Here's a good medical article (written by a doctor) on why heels are bad for us. The thought of us "telling" our little girls that heels are wonderful and popular and stylish (by us putting them on them from the time they are born) is REALLY disturbing.
As someone who insisted on heels thru college and who wore them daily even WITH foot problems caused by them, I hope others don't have to learn the hard way (especially not children).
"someone somewhere is gonna take that idea and drive it all the way up through toddler and school age children!"
Sadly they already make heels for girls way too young. It's hard to find too many little girls shoes without heels on them. They might not be high heels, but I cringe any way thinking of J running around and tripping breaking her neck!
I think it would be totally inappropiate for an infant/toddler to wear high heels. Number 1- their feet is still growing and plus they are still growing -bone structure and all..so healthwise it may do more harm than good.
In general, with studies done, high heels are bad for the feet and the back. Although many tolerate it well, it does slowly cause medical issues to adults. No need to start in their babyhood.
As other said, let kids be kids. they don't need to grow up to fast. There are already plenty of cute shoes for kids without adding health issues.
I saw this on GMA or something...the heels aren't solid like women wear, more like a stuffed animal. They would be funny cute on a baby that doesn't walk, but on kids that are just starting to walk they could be a tripping hazard...that company needs to beware of lawsuits.
I agree that they are an umm.....interesting trend to say the least! If I had a little girl, I can pretty much guarantee that she wouldn't wear these.
Some of the posts, though, seem to imply that they are made for children who walk. I checked out the website for the shoes and it says on the front page that they are crib shoes only and are not intended for use by any children who walk, and that the heel will in fact collapse with weight as it is all soft material.
Not that this makes it any better, but just to clarify that these women don't actually intend on children walking around in them, as that would be unsafe.
I'm so glad I have a boy!

ACMom you are right they are just for infants but just think about it, if these things were to become a big hit someone else, possibly who doesn't have kids and just wants the big bucks, will take the idea to the next level and go all the way through toddler to school age children!! I think that they are just plan UGLY! They aren't even cute, they do look creepy! Nate hit the nail right one the head! "They represent the sexualization of our children."
Very wierd to say the least. I'm not sure that I really understand the point of these heels. They are for babies who don't even walk (I pretty much kept my 6-month-old in socks and really flexible shoes), and they don't even look cute! I don't think big, bright pink heels would have matched anything in my daughter's wardrobe! It looks like a mom put her heels on her baby.
I don't think the shoes would hurt the baby in any way, but I don't think they would be safe AT ALL for toddlers who fall over their own feet! And yes, many toddler shoes do already have little heels. Some are very small and spread wide (not narrow at all) - just enough to make a fun clicking sound (my daughter has a pair), but I would never buy big platform or heeled shoes for my daughter. She is clumsy enough as it is, and those shoes don't have any support!
I usually try (like I said try) to stay a little unbiased since I work for the site and don't want to offend but...CREEPY!!! I'm sad to see what girls wear today. When I was little my Grandma made most of my outfits and my hair was in a long braid or ponytail. I want to see purity in our little girls because if we teach them that that is cool and beautiful at a young age it will carry them through to adulthood. This is not to say that high heels in and of themselves are impure but they are def meant to be sexy. They push out the butt, elongate the legs and create an image...and not one a child should have.
Oh... come on... they are kinda funny. I mean, just as a joke - halloween or something. I don't think they are appropriate as an everyday shoe, but sometimes we have to be open to other people's ideas and styles... I don't think anyone meant these to be sexual - just funny...
