Can anyone give me recommendation for a dentist who would be just wonderful with a terrified 3 year old and his anxious mommy? Many thanks in advance.

My daughter has some problems with her teeth, and we've been to 2 or 3 dentists. they were all GREAT, and it didn't make a bit of a difference -- Savannah was screaming-trembling-
terrified the whole time, every time.

She is like that with the doctor, as well.

Anyone else?

We went to Dr. Erbes. So far we've only seen the dental hygenist though. He went with me to my last appointment just to see what the office was like. She let him play with the tools, sit in the chair, etc. Next time will be the actual first appointment. I guess we'll see how that goes! I'll keep my expectations low.

My daughter is 2, and people have been telling me I should get her in for a dental check/cleaning. What age did you all take your child to the dentist for the first time? She seems so young. I mean, she doesn't even have all of her teeth in yet!

We were told after they turn 3 from both our pediatrician and the dentist himself. But even then, don't expect the first appointment to go smoothly. Our hygenist said she'll just try to count teeth, check their development and see how he's doing with brushing -- but some kids can't even handle that.

We took my son when he was 2. He loved it..he is funny like that. We go to Dr. Weber. He is really nice and has 3 toddlers himself. In fact we bought his house when we moved to G'Ville and that is how we met him!

I'm not sure how they are with toddlers, but I have been going to Gainesville Family Dentistry since I was 12 and LOVE THEM! Dr. Witt and his staff are always kind and very good. He has a lot of patience and tries very hard to workout payments. The office is very up-to-date with the latest procedures and technology. His old partner, Dr. Brodach has a wonderful personality and always made each visit fun! I believe he still practices in Gainesville. Dr. Brodach also is the "Voice" of GHS sports and will "announce" and entertain you during your procedures. Good Luck!
