Hello everyone!

I am a mother and coach of a 10U Fastpitch softball team who will be in town July 2nd-July6th for the state Babe Ruth Softball tournament. I am bringing my daughter and three other girls ages 9-11. We are looking for a listing or website of Kid friendly activities during that weekend and also the names of any fun family friendly restaurants that have dinner & karaoke W-Th-F-S nights. We are looking for fun and inexpensive things to do during our down time but I am not sure where to begin my search. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Gainesville Sun has an online calendar with a listing of free events. You can check it out at gainesville.com and then go to the calendar area. I'm sure there are a lot of good, free events to go to during this time of year.

Wow, where to begin.

Some fun places:
Fanfares & Fireworks on the UF campus is July 3rd, then there's the Santa Fe Zoo, Hippodrome Kids Summer Theatre Series and, of course, the Oaks Mall. We are talking about 9-11 year old girls, right -- who doesn't love shopping?

Restaurants:
Satchel's Pizza has music and a really cool junk store -- but bring cash because I don't think they take plastic. And I believe Newberry's BBQ has karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. Does anyone know for sure?
