I just had my son 5/12/08 and had Amy Million for a doctor. I love love love her, she's amazing and easy to talk to. She works at North Florida Regional's Womens Center. I forget the exact name of their practice but it's right there next to the hospital (SO nice, Labor and Delivery is on the 3rd floor, she's on the 5th, so I knew exactly where to go for showtime hehe)
Dr. Million is at North Florida Women's Physicians. I use Dr. Muskus in that practice as well. And Dr. Brazeal is good too (I saw him once during my pg and he assisted on my first c-section)
I originally went to Dr. Tracey Botha at the North Florida Women's Physicians office (same office as Dr. Million). I did NOT like her style and switched to the midwife practice at North Florida. I was extremely pleased with all of the midwives at the practice - they really take the time to answer all questions and are encouraging of your birthing desires (natural, epidural). Dr. Botha made it seem like I was crazy for even thinking of natural childbirth. She also usually just told me how I was feeling, rather than asking.
I have had three children. My first two were delivered by Dr. Bailey at NFRMC. He was great. With my third child I wanted to try something different and went to AGH and I saw Dr. Stewart. He is amazing. I really loved him and continue to still see him. Good luck finding a great doctor.
Dr. Jean Cook at NFRMC is WONDERFUL. Although she did not deliver my son (due to insurance rules), she was my gynecologist for years. I watched as she dealt with pregant women and new mothers. She is the most genuine, caring, professional, friendly doctor I have ever known in my 45 years.
When I ran into her in a parking lot years later, she not only remembered me, but she stayed (voluntarily) and talked with me as though she was a good friend.
In 1998, when I learned I needed to have almost immediate surgery to remove my "baby," (ectopic pregnancy), it was her daughter's 3rd birthday and she was hosting the party that night. She asked if I minded if she attended the party for 1 hr before performing my surgery. I told her she could give me to the doctor-on-call or one of her partners, but she insisted she wanted to do the surgery herself. She took the time to speak with my husband and me before and after the surgery. She also called me at home to check on me more than once and then made sure I did not sit in the waiting room with all the pregnant women on my post-surgical visits to her office.
The woman is a DOLL! You can't go wrong with her.

I see Dr Werner at NFRMC and love her. She and her nurses have been very helpful my entire pregnancy and have always been ready to answer any questions I have had in person or over the phone.
You can go to their website www.nfwpmd.com and read the OB's profiles. It lists the areas they're most interested in and what they each specialize in.
I choose Dr. Werner after viewing the site because it said she was good with high risk pregnancies. I have a few medical conditions I was concerned about so I decided to go with her.
I have gone to Dr. Marichal for almost 20 years and used him as my OB/GYN. He delivered my second daughter and was awesome. My first daughter was cared for during pregnancy by Marichal but delivered by Million, who was also awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with their practice, North Florida Women's Physicians.
I use Dr. Botha, she is awesome, she answered my questions before I asked them. I love her, she was always there whenever I needed her and she never made me feel bad about any of the questions I had or concerns that I had through out my pregnancy.
Might I suggest a midwife instead? Unless you're high-risk, a midwife can provide excellent care. If you want a hospital setting with a CNM, I recommend the midwives at North Florida. They're great. If you're comfortable with home birth, there are a couple of practices I recommend -- Loving Arms (loving-arms.com) and the Gainesville Midwives Cooperative (midwivescooperative.com).
If you're going for an OB no matter what, definitely pick someone at North Florida. Also, I agree with mommyof1 -- avoid Dr. Botha. She was awful and acted as though natural childbirth was a thing to be feared. She pulled out every single scare tactic as time went on and totally belittled me at a time when women are considered most vulnerable. Dr. Marichal turned out to be quite charming and humorous, although I don't recall if he's accepting new patients at this time. He has excellent bedside manner, though. =)
I had Dr. Muskus, I was really nervous because I had never had a male OB/GYN but he was great. The staff were all down to earth and polite, they even came to say hi to me when I was in the hospital. I will be going back to him when it is time for baby number 2. I loved delivering at North Florida, it was a wonderful experience.

We used Dr. Harris for all three of ours; she has also been a wonderful OB/GYN to my wife. She like many of the other doctors mentioned on this thread is in the same group at NFRMC. It is really hard to find a bad one up there. I always recommend interviewing any potential employee, and a physician is no different. They are employed by you to care for you at your request.
I used Dr. Agrios at All About Women for my most recent birth and was very happy. He was very laidback about everything -- just like me. A funny thing: he estimated my baby's birth weight within an ounce! Who can do that?
