i love our schools in newberry. sure we have our ups and downs but it is a small town and everyone really cares. most of the teachers live close, we know a lot of them personally. that always helps. I have experience with all three, elementary, middle and now my baby is in high school.

i haven't had to use the resources but i know there are a lot of programs for special needs children. i have a friend that home schools her two older children but chose to send her son to private school because of the speech therapy program we have. he is the same age as my son and is main streamed into a regular classroom.

we also have an inclusion program at newberry elem. it was really hard for everyone to get used to but in the long run, it is an excellent way to teach children impathy and compassion. it also allows students with learing disabilities to experience a "normal" classroom setting. we were one of the first elementary schools to step up and try this.

i give my schools a 9 out of 10.

Good to hear, their literature is a little intimidating especially because my son is 'sensative'
