Hi! I'm just wondering if anyone else homeschools their children. I am in my first year of it and am new to the area. I would love to chat with other local HSing moms.

We use an online public school..so we do school at home. We did homeschool for a year before this...so I know some good resources. Also, the main library downtown has a booklet with some good information in it. Just go to the desk on the second floor and ask for it Smiler

My friend here in town uses K-12 (is that what you use?). Thanks for the info!

No, we use Connections Academy. I did just request info from K12 though. We have been pretty happy with Connections...a few hiccups here and there but the curriculum is good and it is pretty easy to arrange things how we want. I just got an email saying that they are adding some new electives and stuff for next year. It's www.connectionsacademy.com if you want to look at it Smiler

Oh, I thought Connections was the same as K12? I looked into one of those a couple of years ago. Thanks for the link! The curriculum looks pretty good. I've already purchased some of my curriculum for HSing next year, but would love to meet other teach-at-home/homeschooling moms in the area. I noticed that Suzy posted some local HSing groups here so maybe I'll check those out, too.

I'm also a member of a group on Yahoo for North Fl homeschoolers...they are really active...they do stuff every week..like gardening, sports, science. We are down to one car right now, so it has been hard for us to participate but here is a link

I also used a book for homeschooling that I loved it was called Home Education Curriculum and they sell them by grade (I think the publisher is Science Fair). They were a little hard to find, but really worth it...I found mine on Amazon. They go day by day and subject by subject, then they have all the reproducibles in the back.
