I was watching Discovery Health last night and came across a show called "Then Came 6" about the Harris family -- Diamond and Chris, big brother DeWayne and sextuplets Kalynne, Kiera, Kaleb, Kieran, Kobe and Kyle. They are the only surviving set of African-American sextuplets. The show was really cute. I'm a fan of "Jon & Kate," but I kind of liked this show better (of course, I only watched one episode). It just seemed more "real."

Here's a link to the show:

I've seen the Harris family documentary and you are right, there is something a little more laid back about this family v J&K+8. I think Jon and Kate are getting a little too many freebies or promotions tossed at them for the sake of television, and they're able to accomplish things that a non-TV family probably would not be able, or as easily able, to do, especially in a family of 8 kids. Still love the show, though...it's a Monday night tradition for Big A and Mommy. The little kids are only a few months older than he, and he calls it the "Baby Show".

Does anyone know if they used fertility treatments like Kate and Jon? Must have, but don't remember if that was answered on the show or not.

I loved what Diamond said, during one particularly loud, chaotic scene, "I'd marry them ALL off and get them outta my house right now if I could"! Priceless!

That's funny TripleA, that exact quote stuck in my mind. Hubby and I both laughed out loud when she said that. That's what I'd be saying too if I had six kindergarteners running around my house!

That's what I liked about this show, it seemed to show more of what was really going on. It showed them shopping at a flea market, attended the older son's football game, and openly discussed some of the developmental issues the kids were facing -- one has been diagnosed with autism. It was more than just field trips, you know?
