Okay, if you know what those letter stand for then you may have been a fan. Everyone who is willing to confess that they were NKOTB fans back in the day raise your hand! Now if you haven't heard already, they are reuniting and planning a tour! LOL!! Wanna go? Big Grin

(Raising hand!)Okay, okay, I admit it. I had a HUGE crush on Joey. Hehe. So, I saw this in the news somewhere recently and when they referred to them as NKOB, I shook my head in disbelief. No, if you were ever a fan, you know it was NKOTB. (What do they know?) LOL!

Ok, I admit it, I had a couple of their tapes. I wasn't as big of a fan as some though...remember the BUTTONS! I knew someone who had a jacket filled with NKOTB and Simpson's buttons. Ah, those were the days weren't they? I was in 5th grade as I recall.

Okay, so the funniest thing was when I recently saw the NKOTB on Good Morning America (or some morning show) They had a bunch of screaming girl fans. But it was really odd to see a bunch of 30-year-olds screaming like that. It was really funny!!

And yes, I remember the buttons! I don't think I had the buttons. I had a t-shirt though. But I wasn't too over the top.

Oh, boy, I had buttons, posters literally from floor to ceiling of my bedroom (which I shared with my twin sister), t-shirts, and all the Tiger Beat, Teen Beat, and Teen magazines that featured them! I saw them in concert in 1989 when I was 12 and lost my voice from screaming! I was a victim of boy-band obsession Smiler I secretly liked Joey, by my sister would have been mad if I did since she had first dibs on him! lol! I switched around crushes, but never liked Danny.

So, did ANYONE like Danny? LOL. I know that sounds mean, but it seems like he was the guy that no one really had a crush on. Funny thing, my step-sister and I actually got into a huge fight over Joey and we still laugh about it to this day. It was like..how dare she think she could like Joey, when I had already called him. How silly!

If it weren't for the NKOTB, I probably never would have married my wonderful husband! Wink His little sister and I became friends and bonded very quickly only after finding out we were both big fans of this boy band. The day we met, I couldn't stand her until I asked her if she knew who they were, and as soon as she said her favorite was Joey, I decided this girl was my new best friend. I married her big brother 7 years later! So THANK YOU, NKOTB!

I was also in fifth grade when NKOTB were really big. I remember dancing to the tapes and turning to MTV (a big no no at our house) when my parents weren't home just to watch them. The thing I remember the most was a girl in my class that year was sooooo in love with Joey. She even got detention for writing her name on all of her school work with her first name and Joey's last name. So she wrote Summer McIntyre on all of her papers even after the teacher said to stop, so our teacher gave her detention. Now that is what you call a dedicated fan or maybe I should say obsessed fan?

LOL! I wonder if she was one of those 30-year-old women screaming on the sidelines of Good Morning America!

So those of you who know my first name, I promise that scrappingmom is not referring to me. Wink

My best friend was a total Joey FANATIC! She would probably be a screaming 30 year old.

So about a year ago (when I lived in Burbank, CA) I found out that Jordan Knight was going to be at the grand opening of some pizza place in town, I went with my sister and my friend in the last 15 minutes, but he was already gone! I don't know how many people actually showed up, but I don't think too many. Poor guy Smiler

Suzy - were you talking to me about the message about my address? If so, no I didn't get a message.
