I don't know if anyone else noticed this new commericial out the last couple weeks or more.
Its the commercial about how people need to "relearn" to live life without smoking. However, the commercial makes people look totally insane, stupid or has alzheimers.

Like they can't remember to put cream in their coffee so they throw it in their mouths and then pour coffee from a coffee mug into their hands and drink it from their hands; or how to put on their pants correctly, or how to use the toilet or get out of bed. I'm sorry. But I use to be a smoker and I never ever went through that and I know some other smokers who too never went through that type of "stupidity".

I think there was one also how to open thier car door or how to drive...etc...anyhow it was all really just plain stupid (not ignorant but stupid).

If you need to relearn something, I don't think you have to go through that. Even people who have brain injury does not go through this. We all in our lives have to relearn stuff, but I don't think we go through that. Maybe an alien from mars, but not us earthly folks! Big Grin

Relearning behaviors or to move on life without the cig's or the drinks or even the drugs is a matter of choice of how to positively move on with our lifestyles and behaviors.

I think the commercial is misleading and misguiding people...and makes it look like life is hell with out the cigerettes. (hope that makes sense). Life does NOT have to be terrible with out cig's. Its a matter of choice of how we redirect our lives.

There is usally a lot of wonderful and funny commercials that I really enjoy, but this commercial was just plain stupid. I did not find it to be funny or a help to relearn...

Just my opinon....

I've heard one radio commercial but not the one you are talking about. I think they make those correlations for that exact purpose though...insinuating that people who smoke are not smart....Smoking is a huge sore topic for me....my mom passed away from COPD and emphysema caused by years of smoking. By the time she finally quit, it was too late...she fought it for 7 very long years. So, after watching what she needlessly went through, I tend to be a bit touchy about the subject...

my husband smokes. i dont condone such behavior. i hate it. but he smoked when i married him so who am i to tell my 44 year old husband he "HAS" to quit. My husband also happens to be a very intelligent person. probably the smartest person i have ever known. so for the writers of these commercials to say that people who smoke are "not smart" is very unintelligent of them. to me, it seems that they will be driving smokers MORE to continue than to quit.
its a bit like the geico commercials where the cavemen get upset because the ads say "so easy a caveman can do it".
