There seem to be a lot of them coming out this month -- "The Women," "My Best Friend's Girl,""Nights in Rodanthe" ...

Are you looking forward to going to see any of them? Are you going to make it a night out with the girls?

What's your favorite "chick flick" of all time? Mine have to be "When Harry Met Sally" -- a classic -- and "The Notebook."

My husband and I saw "When Harry Met Sally" on our first date! It was not really a "date" as we were "just friends". It was so funny that we picked that movie. We said we were sure we could be "just friends". We were both getting over ex relationships and when we had the opportunity to patch it up w/ the exes, we both got jealous, had a big fight, confessed our love and have been together happily- ever- after! The great thing though, we are still great friends!

Great story, Lew!

I would like to put my two cents in, with a movie called "High Fidelity" with John Cusack. It isn't a chick flick, but it is a MALE chick flick. It has the typical chick flick premise, with a break-up, some soul searching, and a happy ending, only it is from a man's perspective, as he goes back to talk to all his exes about what went wrong.

All men over 30 should watch this movie! and ladies, I think you all could gain perspective into the male psyche by watching it (plus, it is very funny, too)

That's funny that you said that, Nate. Because the book "High Fidelity" is sitting right next to me on our side table. We both love that movie.

Wow, Nate, you chose one of my all-time favorites!

I've seen 'High Fidelity' numerous times, and have a son who, now that he's old enough, has watched it time and again.

John Cusack is absolutely incredible and the fact that Springsteen has a cameo doesn't hurt. Wink

On topic: I'm very much looking forward to 'The Women'.

The one I love (& watch whenever it comes back on TV) has John Cusack in it as well. It's the one where he is engaged to be married but meets a woman on a bus, spends a few moments with her, but then spends the entire movie trying to find her because he's sure she's his soulmate. In the meantime, she feels the same even though she has a serious boyfriend. She spends the entire movie looking for John C's character and of course they continue to just "miss" each other.

I believe the movie is called "Serendipity" and it's from 2001. It's really a cute movie with a predictable ending. As my college professor would say, it's "escape fiction" "meant for us to relax and be entertained." That works for me!
