I can understand the trend. I would LOVE to do something like this one day. I think that we women give and give and give, many of us, until we burn out. What a great idea. If I ever have the extra money to splurge, I'm doing it.

Wow, I've always had that idea, like for the women in my family, or a pack of girlfriends..didn't know it was a whole trend going on. I love the idea of really traveling, packing up, flying out, going somewhere for an extended period...but I can't seem to arrange for even just a whole day, or an overnighter at the beach, or down at City Walk or Downtown Disney (one of our favorite "playgrounds" BC [before children])...maybe another potential GVL Moms gathering at some point down the line?

Aaaah, sounds nice! Last summer my sister and I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for 5 nights! My husband stayed home and watched the kids. We relaxed by the pool, went swimming in the turquoise water, and sipped pina coladas! The best part was that it was free! My other sister won the all-inclusive trip on a gameshow and is terrified of flying so gave the trip to us. Anyway, I still am reaping the benefits of the getaway. It was so nice to not hear "mommy" or "honey" in need of something for almost an entire week! If women can afford it, I think it is so worth it. Even if the getaway is local, or even a girls night out.

That sounds like an amazing trip! You are right, even if it is just a local night out, we all need some time with just the girls...

I have thought about this just recently. If I get the opportunity one day I would love to do this. It would be so much fun!
But I would have to admit, I would feel a little guilty over leaving the kids and hubby at home.

But Tammy, you shouldnt feel a little guilty for doing it...you deserve as much as any mom who needs time off. But I know its a mom thing...understandable. But wipe off the guilt off your shoulder and when you do it..& do it for YOU!!!
