Yea!!! Today is our first anniversary and we are sooooo excited. Joey's Grandparents have had about 60 plus anniversaries and I wonder if they remember their first and if it was a big deal. They say the first year is the hardest and it was pretty smooth for us so I'm looking forward to the next 60!

I remember our first. We were married at Sweetwater Branch downtown, so for our first anniversary we returned there. We went for sushi downtown, then a show at the Hipp. It's was a great anniversary!

Congrats to you and Joey. Our anniversary is next week. I think January is getting to be a bigger month for weddings.

We have stuck w/ the traditional gifts 1 yr. paper 2yr. china 3 yr. leather 4yr. wood etc. We are up to 15 years! It has made it fun getting creative w/ the traditional gift options. For the first year (paper) we wrote each other a poem about our first year together. We both still have them Smiler.

Congratulations! We felt our first year went pretty smoothly, too.

We are going on our 10th this August. We aren't really that much into buying gifts for each other, but I think we will sometimes buy something we need/want for our home. We've also gone out for dinner for our anniversaries. Our marriage keeps getting better as the years go by Smiler

We're coming up on our 11th in May. We're not so big on gifts, either, just because we were older when we got married and already had a lot of "stuff". Most years, we go on a trip together, because I cleverly married the man on Memorial Day weekend, with the thought in mind that we'll always have at least a 3-day weekend for our anniversary each year! Hehe!

Jam: You are brilliant!

Lew: I love that idea...we are doing it this year without even knowing it. We are making eachother "coupon books" and it should be quite fun! So, next year is China? I don't have any and am not really interested in getting any (as horrible and un-girly as that may sound)...what did you get?

Congrats Mary! How fun! Hubby and I just celebrated our third on New Year's Day. I loved our first anniversary, though. We got to eat the top layer of our cake that we had kept frozen for a whole year! Yummy! We don't typically do gifts since it is so close to Christmas.

for the 2nd year-cotton is the traditional idea. China is the modern version. For some reason we went w/ China here. He gave me an elephant (made of china) that you use to hold your rings (stack on the trunk). This is sad, but I do not recall what I gave him-probably a coffee mug Smiler.

I gave my husband a gator Polo Shirt. I don't remember what he got me on our second. He got me heart Origami for our first since it is paper.
