I second that, Fanfares and Fireworks! Although I'm thinking I should come up with a Plan B in case of rain.

Wish I could have made it, but the little ones are sleeping, and it's too hot (AND LOUD) for a 3-month old. The two older kids went with grandma. So, they are not missing anything and I am having a quiet night. Going to the beach Saturday. I can't wait!

We had a play date at our house. The kids got worn out and we had to wake them up to go! We kept debating, to go/not go etc. Decided at eth last minute that if we did not go our DS would be so upset the next day that he missed it! So, we finally piled in the car and fought the traffic and ended up on the top of one of the parking garages. We sat down on our blanket w/ our backs up against the parking garage wall just as the first firework was shot into the sky! It was beautiful. We had a great spot and the kids loved the show-which was REALLY good Smiler. We came home and lit sparklers and some other small fireworks until after midnight. Again, the kids loved it-except for a small sparkler burned finger. They loved being up so late and we took a bunch of pics and shot some video. They are still asleep now and it is almost 8:00a.m. We are looking forward to a fun filled weekend!

We braved the rain that never came and headed down to meet some friends at Flavet Field. We figured if it was gonna rain, we were just gonna get wet. The sky finally cleared up and it was an amazing show. My 3-year-old loved it, and so did the baby -- that is, until about half way through, when he fell asleep in my arms (what kid falls asleep during fireworks?)

I Heard it was awesome! Glad we were able to have the fireworks this year, despite budget cuts. Thanks to one generous donorSmiler
