Introducing baby Felix, born last night (6/26/08) at 10:01 pm after 16 1/2 hours of labor...8 pounds, 14 ounces, 20.3 inches long....both mother and baby are doing fine and will come home tomorrow. Now my 10-month-old is no longer the baby of the family....The A Team are uncles again!

Well, I did the whole marriage/family thing kinda backwards...I became a (step)grandma before my own kids came along....and seeing the love, joy, fun and bonding was really a wistful, longing experience for me. So for me...parenting has been the fulfillment of some long held dreams come true. For most people who do things in the "normal" order, I guess grandparenting is easier and more fun...but I've lived my entire life by the motto "Why Be Normal?"...our whole family loves being "different"! Mary, I just can't believe you haven't had that baby yet...I've been off the computer for two days, and when I got back on, I would have sworn I'd see the news that you had that little bugger.....If he doesn't make his appearance tonight, the GVL Moms are doing to have to circle the wagons around you, chant, lay hands, annoint you with oils, dance, sing, shout, scream....do something, anything, to get this show on the road...the waiting is killing all of us, I can't imagine what you're going through. Keeping you in my prayers. ~Jam~ |
