Hey moms! I wanted to let you all know how we can post links on the site without seeing "Link" everywhere!

For your signature:
1. Go into your profile, and click in the signature box.
2. Copy and paste this:
[ url = http:// your website . com ] Name of your blog OR website [ / url ]
3. Make sure to delete all the spaces. For example, there should be no space between the "[" and "url." (I had to include the spaces to post the example, but you should not. The only section that can have spaces is the name of your blog. My blog name was "A Mom's Life.")
4. Replace the generic stuff with your Web site address and name.

If you want to include a link in your post, follow these steps:
1. When you post a reply, click on "URL" next to the smiley face.
2. Enter the URL and a title.
For example, if you want to post an article about rising gas costs, just put the URL of the article in, and make the title "rising gas costs."

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at gainesvillemoms@gainesville.com!

And remember, we aren't allowed to post any links that advertise businesses! Thanks!

Oh, and let me know if this works for you! I figured it would be nice to actually see the names of all your wonderful blogs in your signature! Smiler

Stacy -

When I go to my profile there are only three options available to me and none of them is the signature. I can change my password, my nickname and subscribe to the newsletters.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Ok....this is a test to see if the signature thing worked....

It's not working Stacy. I copied and pasted and replaced and took out spaces per your message.

I keep experimenting and getting it wrong.

Hey Jennifer!

All you have to do is access your profile in a different way! Just click on "Go," then "Personal Zone" then "Profile." There you will be able to "edit" your profile! The "Go" I am talking about is right at the top in the toolbar, next to "New."

Let me know if you are able to find it!

I keep changing it and refreshing the page to see if it worked. This one is where I took out all the spaces...

Caryn,

Sorry it says your message was edited! I meant to quote what you said and accidently clicked "edit" your post. I didn't change anything!

Ok, now about the link. You just have to make one small change. Look at the bracket right after ".com" It is the wrong way. You should use this bracket: "]" That's it! Let me know if this works!

Ok Caryn! We are moving in the right direction. Smiler It looks like there are still some spaces. I see a space after the "=" I also see a space after the "/" Try taking these out, and we will see what happens!

Stacy - I did this when you first posted it and it worked for a bit but then Caryn told me it was going to the wrong area on blogspot so I checked and YIKES it was going to my "Edit account" page - even tho I did not change a thing! So I re-read your instructions, did it over from scratch, and still it is wrong! I saw a couple of other "links" showing the info instead of the blog name and a 'clickable' status so maybe it was a site thing??

I decided to delete it completely for now...

Well my tech-inclined hubby looked it over and re-did it for me and it seems to be working now, who knows what the deal was?? Now I really ought to keep the blog current... Red Face
