My daughter has eczema and since we switched her to whole milk she seems to always have a flare up. She has never had this bad of a flare up. Not to mention she is constipated daily. Any suggestions??? I feel helpless. I keep her lotioned like a greased pig with Eucerin. And she has an ointment the doctor prescribed but she is still miserable.
Could it be allergy related? There's been a lot of wind lately. Maybe try some allergy medicine? I think it's related to allergies. 2 of my boys have it mildly and their doctor said to bathe them in Aveeno and use Aveeno lotion.

Myself and my children have this condition, so here is a few pointers:
-try not to keep it moist (with lotion) it makes it worse! Especially when it flares, use the special cream only when it flares and sparingly (just enough to help it back to normal)
-avoid lotion in that area, and pat that area dry after showers/getting wet instead of rubbing
hydrocorozone cream, or whatever the doc gave you is what really helps it mellow out, but moist means worse so a dab here and another dab later usually does the trick.
I use aveeno for myself and kids (lotion) and aveeno hydrocortozone for the spots that need it every so often.
Look into allergies with the milk, maybe try silk(soy milk) for a couple days to see if the spot gets better...that would be the easiest way to tell if it is truly the cows milk. If not def. talk to the doctor and let them know you tried other types of milk and something else might be going on.

I think I am going to put her back on her formula for a few days and just see what happens. We never had this bad of a problem until she switched to whole milk..That is what my mom gutt is saying anyway. I only lotion her after a bath that is once I have patted her completely dry. I usually put the cream the doctor gave me on the spots and the eucerin else where. When she was first diagnosed with eczema it was only a small spot on the back of her knee. Which is all that it was for a long time. Now she is breaking out everywhere...he legs, arms, and face. I think we may be calling her doc in the AM.

Yes, it seemed to help. My youngest had it badly on his face a couple of months ago (after we moved here, so likely related to some new pollen or something, I think). I used Aveeno, and now his skin is nice and smooth. I don't use it much anymore, but sometimes if his skin is getting a little red/patchy, I'll put a little bit on him. It's worth a try.
Hmmm...sounds like it might be milk-allergy related.

Poor thing It's so hard to see your little ones suffering, especially when you feel helpless to take it away! Hopefully she'll get some relief quickly!
