Do your kids take vitamins? I try to just feed them right and we don't really do the vitamins, but I am watching a piece about supplements for kids. And this woman is throwing out all these numbers that sound really overwhelming! Just wanted to know what other parents are doing...

I give my kids vitamins. I see it as sorta of a insurance policy for their health and development. Even though I do my best to make sure they eat right, it is so hard to get all what kids need in their bodies.

What kind of vitamins do you give them? And do you also take vitamins?

I get my kids vitamins from Mother Earth off Newberry Rd. They are the chewable kind with no added sugar, etc. My kids like to take them.
But nope, I don't take any vitamins. I hate to take any kind of pill, medicine or even vitamins. I know, I should, but I don't. It's like one more thing I have to do.

I assumed vitamins were a fail safe and did it up until recently but decided that because they were all lab-created (all vitamins are-can just squeeze an orange every time you make a bottle of vitamins) I just started keeping a lot of things on hand all the time to make for the kids.. especially for snacks...so if they didn't get it in their meals, there was still a chance LOL

Yep, we're vitamin takers in this family.....religious about it...both adults and the kids. We looked at great-grandma as an example...she faithfully took vitamins from WWWAAAYYY bacl when, and she lived well into her 100s. And drove, across country and took care of new babies and other dying family members, well into her 90s.

Kind made an impact and dear hubby and myself, so we've been very good about it for (oh, this makes me sound so old) two decades. I figure, at the least, it really can't hurt...if you take the good ones (anyone remember that report from about a year ago about the off-brand vitamins...worthless, and in some cases, harmful). So yeah, Centrum, One-Day, the names brands in our house.

That's my 2 cents worth! Smiler
