This is good news. It's scary to think that if a child gets hurt or needs help getting regular medications that there wouldn't be a professional on site. And teachers shouldn't be put into that position. School nurses are a must.

agreed. my son was diagnosed with epilepsy and abdominal migraines this year. without his nurse at school, we would have been lost. she was great. i cant imagine life without her there to keep an eye on him! i need our school nurse!!

i do hope that everyone here realizes that our school board used this as a way to get us to consider the proposed increase in property taxes.

i believe they knew the money would be appropriated just like it always is, but instead, they sent pink slips, just like they do almost every year, scare everyone, get everyone up in arms and then say very little when everything works out.

do not be fooled into believing we can throw more tax money at our schools and that will fix everything. my property taxes are high enough...and i thought that a law was just passed saying property taxes could not be increased anymore, we were at the maximum the state allowed...have to ck on that one...

It is a good sign of relief, but as far as i know not all schools will be having nurses, it was something like out of 23 or so positions only 13-16 got their positions back. Anyone feel free to correct me if i am wrong. I read the article in the gainesville sun awhile back ago now!
