My girls and I recently watched Kung Fu Panda on DVD, and after talking to several other parents about it, I think that movie should come with a warning --

WARNING: This movie will encourage your young ones to jump around the house throwing punches and kicks, and breaking anything that gets in their path. Also, it may lead them to kick dogs.

It's a good movie, but it's got as much violence in it as any other kung-fu movie, so parents beware!

We haven't seen the movie but I did get the kids a Panda Bop Bag and that seems to incite a bit of violence too! Not quite as bad, but it does get kicked and punched quite a lot. Then again that is what is intended to be done with it so I guess it could be worse. Maybe we will hold off on the movie for a while. Thanks for the heads' up Nate!

That sounds like my two boys on a normal day! LOL

They have been wanting to see it, but I may have to reconsider since it has a lot of violence. Thanks for the warning!

Its not bloody violence -- lots of people use swords and weapons, but no one gets beheaded or anything. It's just non-stop fighting throughout. I would say it's best for kids who are old enough to have already learned about fighting.

At the video store (where I work) I have received reports of several broken lamps, a blackened eye, and two kicked dogs. LOL

Joey and I rented it for...um...Jack...yeah...

LOL! We really liked it. Fortunately he can't even sit up on his own so no broken lamps...he did get pretty feisty with a rattle last night though.

Oh yeah, there was lots of kung fu in our house after seeing that movie. But it was no more violent than many other kids movies and TV shows I've seen lately. I actually thought "Madagascar 2" was much more violent than the first one.
