I think the checks have gone out to most people at this point. Is everyone else as boring as us -- we're just paying some bills and saving the money for everyday purchases. I'd love to hear about someone's vacation or big-screen TV.

Unfortunatly, 100% of mine went to bills. With the economy headed where it is going, I want to pay off as much as I can while I can. I am about half way there now from where I started.

bishop96: How'd your 3-year-old do at Disney? I was thinking that was still a little too young, but hearing someone else went is encouraging.

He loves it. He's not all that much of a rides kid (he love It's a Small World though!) We have been going since both of our kiddos were really little...growing up in FL, I'm kind of Disney addict..haha. We've always had a great time. I would definitely say to not go over summer though...it's WAY too hot, crowded and more expensive. The best time to go is once it starts cooling off a little bit. If you check their site, they usually run some really good FL resident specials too...can yo tell I know a little too much about Disney...haha...I'm the one everyone comes to with any Disney questions!

We have managed to spend part of ours on fun stuff ie a Wii and games and controllers, etc, and a bigger vinyl pool for the back yard. We also took the kids to the store and let them pick out some toys (my husband was convinced that this just had to be done because my son was playing with Baby Bratz and he HAD to have action figures!)

Most of it will be a down payment on our midwife though for our homebirth, so that part of it will be bill-like.

We spent most of our tax refund paying hospital bills from our son's first Emergency Room visit and property taxes, so it was nice to have money to blow.

100% of ours went to food for the month of May. since we are pretty much debtless (other than the van), so I made sure we had food on the table for this month.

Yes, you can have lots of fun with money to spend. I have been fortunate enough to take great vacations and go places and see things, always taking my family with me.
But you don't have to spend money to enjoy life either. Just playing with my kids and spending time with my family is having a great time. Those moments mean more to my kids, my husband and me more than any vacation can buy.

bishop96, you have met your Disney soul mate !! Smiler We go about every other year and stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We are going in 2009 in March for 9 days and we are already excited about it. My 3 year old daughter LOVES Disney as well as my older girls too. Even my husband reverts back to a giggly kid. I think staying at the Wilderness Lodge is great cause we are close enough to the Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks every night...plus the Lodge is awesome.

Oh and our stimulus check went straight into the savings account...gotta save up for that next Disney vacation!!!

If we get a check, keyword IF, it'll be going towards things we need for Max (due in August) and our move (also in August).

But I'm not sure if we'll even be getting a check. The IRS is taking our owed taxes out of our check so I'm not sure if there'll be anything left. I'm just hoping the stimulus check covers what we owe!

Oh wow...we always stay at the All Stars...just because it's pretty cheap. We finally gave in and bought the FL Resident Seasonal passes with our tax money in March. They have paid for themselves already..haha. Do you stay in the campground part of the lodge itself? We have talked about camping there but haven't done it yet...I'm not much of a camper..but I'm going to guess that camping at Disney isn't really like camping! My favorite is going at Christmas time...it's so pretty! Ok...I could go on forever Smiler

New flooring in my kitchen, foyer, hallway, and part of the den and dining room. I love it, but boy, it was a mess all last week at the house. Couldn't get in to the kitchen all week to cook, so it was pizza and sub sandwiches every night.
