My in-laws came into town tonight for a quick visit and I was worried that they would pretty much be on their own with my daughter in school and both my husband and I at work.

Then we got the news that school would be closed Thursday so my daughter will be able to spend the day with her grandparents.

It worked out pretty well, Thanks Fay.

What are you other parents of school-age children planning on doing with your kids with school out?

Mine will GLADLY vacuum, dust, mop, scrub grout and clean their bedrooms. Did I say "gladly?" OK, I lied. But that's what they will be doing before they can play. Sometimes it's nice to have older childrenSmiler

We are in Levy county and our schools are open Frowner I am not too happy with the decision. I am hoping they will come to their senses and close them...or at least send the kids home early.

Well our daycare follow suit with the schools so it's closed as well. I guess a day with the grandparents is in order, since I still have to work.

I sure with I could spend the day with them!

My son is with the sitter, but one of my co-workers brought her kids in to the office since she and her husband both have to work. Fortunately we have a wonderful, family-oriented staff!

Yeah, well we missed the anoucncement on TV and tried to take our daughter to Daycare. Both me and my husband work at UF so we have to go to work. So I am at work and he is at home. It is his turn to stay home. I just wish Uf would have followed suit to make it easier on parents.

We got the call at about 11 last night that my daughter's preschool was closed. We all had a yummy chocolate chip pancake breakfast this morning (which is better than the rushed breakfast in the car!), and then I headed off to work while she stayed home with dad. Dad works with Alachua County schools, so it was a given he'd be home with her.

Who knows what my house will look like when I return, though...
