This makes me never want to drink anything from the tap again...
"People take pills. Their bodies absorb some of the medication, but the rest of it passes through and is flushed down the toilet. The wastewater is treated before it is discharged into reservoirs, rivers or lakes. Then, some of the water is cleansed again at drinking water treatment plants and piped to consumers. But most treatments do not remove all drug residue." |

The crazy things is, many of the bottled waters out there are really just tap water! I wonder if any changes will be made now that this information is public?

I usually buy "Spring Water" as opposed to "Drinking Water." Someone once told me that the Drinking Water is the stuff that gets recycled, so I stay away from that. I don't really know how true that is, though.

We also get the drug residue from people who live in the city and have the city sewers when others flush drugs down the toilet?? If you're done with a specific drug but there's more left - if it's old - etc. They want you to flush them?? Well - where do they think THAT water goes?? To a treatment plant - cleaned and sent right back to us!!!

Wow. You have a good point about flushing drugs. I hadn't thought of that...
