Two boys, ages 3 and 1 |
I kind of laughed at this study. Of course moms (and dads) are caffeinated -- look at how much we have to do!
http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/family/06/23/moms.caffeine/index.html Read the blog about it and lament with me: http://raisingboys.gainesville.com/default.asp?item=2216291&mode= |

Boy 4.5 & Girl 23 mo. |
I am drinking my 3rd cup of coffee for the day (it is only 1:32PM) as I take a break from work and catch up on a little reading of my own! The jolt the coffee will give me will provide me the energy I need to clear this desk off! I will have another after work…counting on it getting me through the dinner, bath, story hour, rush and possibly allow me a few extra minutes to catch up w/ my hubby before I pass out cold! Loved the article and your blog

Coffee...MmmMMmMMmmMM......
I have found that in general, hot drinks do the trick for me... but nothing can compare to coffee in the morning. I have been drinking coffee regularly for about 15 years but started with decaf as a pre-teen (my mother managed a chain of coffee shops). Once in High School my life became very complicated and extremely busy....so I started booting decaf, on too Caffeinated. I usually have a pot a day, to myself, however I rarely finish a cup (running from here to there, who has time?!). After my last child I was exposed to old Indian traditions with diets for rejuvenation etc and found that my body just wanted the hot. So while nursing I am able to take out some coffee here and there and add in some great home brewed teas and hot cocoa to name a few. But yes, coffee MMMMmMmMmmmmmMmMmmmm...... |

NW Gainesville 3 boys (1-3 y/o and 2 -1y/o's) and a step-mom and step-grandma, too! |
Coffee...swore I'd never drink it, after seeing my mom, all my life, be a hard-core coffee addict. Then I married THE WORLD'S LOUDEST CHAIN SAW SNORER...and began needing a cup just to get me going after a night of lousy sleeping...now with hot flashes, I can't take a hot coffee in the summer, so it's an Iced Coffee for me, until about November....love the stuff. But...I can't have any past noon, or else in addition to DH snoring, I'll stay awake all night with the jitters and shakes...what a team we make, LOL!

After my maternity leave, I started drinking those skinny lattes at Starbucks but at $4.25 a pop, I switched to those McDonalds iced coffees. So yummy but I have to lose this baby weight so I was just drinking coffee with sugarfree creamer and adding ice and lo and behold I drive by McDonalds and now they are serving sugarfree vanilla iced coffee. I couldn't resist.

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (16) son (8) girl (5) |
I can't handle alot of caffeine, my body can be sensitive to it. I handle only one cup in the morning with breakfast and then I drink ice tea and the very occasional soda.
