3 boys: Caleb (6), Tyler (3), and Ethan (6 wks.) |
Daddy made the mistake of giving Caleb (our six year old) some outrageous amount (can't remember exactly how much) for the first tooth. Well when he woke up this morning and found two dollars for the tooth he lost yesterday he came into the bathroom while I was getting ready for work and announced that the tooth fairy must be broke because he only got two bucks. I remember getting a quarter, or two if I was lucky. LOL! It was funny but aggravating at the same time...he is our money obsessed child!

Well I don't feel so bad. The tooth fairy left Hannah a quarter, two dimes and a nickel for the first because she couldn't dig up a dollar anywhere. For the second, she got a dollar because mom....er the tooth fairy forgot. But then we found out the tooth fairy takes Sundays off. She wasn't unhappy with either amount.

I was absolutely beside myself as a child with the quarter that I got, and I just couldn't believe his reaction....our middle one is thrilled when he finds a penny!
Like the Sundays off thing....it's amazing how as a mom we always find a way to improvise! |

How many "stories" do parents tell their kids growing up. My mom was a champion fibber but when we told one it was a "lie." I love the tooth fairy and whoever invented her is a genius. Always made losing those teeth a little better. My parents would forget and then tell me I just lost my quarters and to go look for them after breakfast, during which time they would hide them on the floor saying I must have knocked them off while I was sleeping! LOL! I love them for trying.

Oh how funny! I don't even remember how much I got when the tooth fairy visited me as a child. I think it was 50 cents or a dollar. I had this cute little tooth pillow though. It had a pocket in it that you put the tooth in and the tooth fairy replaced it with money. I want to find one or make one for my boys, too.

Oh I had a tooth pillow, too! I forgot about that. I'd love to find one for my daughter. Maybe my mom kept mine. That would be perfect! I know I did see some at the little flower store in Haile once, but I can't remember ever seeing them anywhere else.

Cracker Barrel almost always has the tooth pillows but with the holiday stuff out, they may have pulled them for a while.
