NW Gainesville 2..girl 7 and boy 3 |
This is just crazy...the police are saying these kids were planning an attack on their teacher because she scolded one of them!! They actually brought a broken knife, duct tape, and a bunch of other stuff to school. They had also given "jobs" to other kids so they wouldn't get caught! What is the world coming to? These are just little kids...where do they get ideas like this..tv? video games? lack of parenting?

Whaaaaat?! Third-graders?! I have a kid that age and I cannot imagine him being involved in something like this, especially at his age. Where did they get such a violent idea? I think that it must be all of these combined...t.v., video games and lack of parent involvement. Sheesh, that is scary!

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (17) son (8) girl (5) |
OMG! This is so hard to believe. My son is in 2nd grade and while he gets frustrated, I can't imagine him being violent like this.
Are these parents involved with their children, talking and paying attention to them? Or are these children really good at hiding their intentions form their parents? Makes me wonder. Tammy |

I haven't heard any reports on the parents. I don't think they are speaking to media, but I am really interested in knowing more about the home lives of these children. This kind of stuff doesn't just happen. No way.

This is insane! I have to agree, I think this has to be an instance where these children have little or no parent involvement combined with video games and tv. Don't get me wrong, I'm pro-video games and tv. I just believe there is a time and place for certain tv programs and video games. The more violent they are, the older you should have to be to play/view them. My daughter has seen some instances of violence on video games and tv (It's almost inevitable, flipping through channels or when they get up at night) Each time we explain to her the difference in reality and tv/video. We make certain she realizes that violence is not ok and that death is forever.
