I am not crazy about any of the four people running in this election. But I will say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will not vote for Barrack Obama. He just scares me. The more I read about who he is and what he has done in the past the more I am sure he is just not the man to be running our country. I don't want to get in a shouting match but everyone keeps bad mouthing Palin and McCain and doesn't anyone see all the things Obama has stood for in the past?? Maybe I am just too old fashioned but I just don't believe the things he is saying. Everything he says on his campaign trail is written for him, (as is McCain's also), and is said to 'reel in the votes'. When I look at McCain's background verses Obama's there is nothing to think about. Our country and safety have to come first. When I look at someone like the Rev. Wright, whom Obama associated with and supported, was married by and had baptize his children, and see what his beliefs are and know that this is a man Obama believes in....thats scary. Obama only dis-associated with him because of the election. You know he sat in Rev. Wrights 'church' for 20 years so he had no doubts after all that time what the reverend's beliefs were. I just can't seem to get past it. I keep watching everything about all the candidates and I still don't hear anything from him that gets me close to changing my mind. Like I said I don't like everything I hear from McCain and Palin either...but I feel they are the 'lesser of two evils'. I don't want to offend anyone but everyone is just getting so punchy and I wanted to put my thoughts in too.

LEw wrote "He ended by saying, vote w/ your emotions and pay the bills of the rich"

That is interesting. Not to dispute it, because it pretty much true, just to discuss the other side of the coin... where the Repubs tend to the favor the rich, the Dems tend to favor the poor. Not middle class folks, NO ONE FAVORS US, but the indigent. Welfare programs, programs to take care of illegals, etc. etc. This is also voting with your emotions, wanting to use your vote to try and make America a more "fair" place.

And, of course, the fact that Republicans and Democrats are all basically corrupt and look out for themselves. It's funny that everyone in the race wants to point fingers over "earmarks" and it turns out everyone has a finger pointing at them because they all engage in earmarks.

Once again, this isnt a statement to disagree with anyone in particular. I just think that the Repubs often get cast as the bad guys, and the Dems like to be the good guys. But the good guys have been in charge of congress for a while now, and all they have done is have trials about steroid use in baseball. That is to say, they have done nothing.

So while we are debating each "side" of the race, let's remember that it's basically one big side for politicians, and that isn't the same side as the working or middle class family.
