Hi everyone,

I'm originally from Gainesville. I recently moved back to Arizona.

My godfather, David Reiser, went missing Thursday evening, he left his friend's house (also a family friend, where he stays in Gainesville. Also has a house in the Ocala area but he hasn't lived there in about 9 months) to go to band practice. He never got there.

He's a VERY habitual person. Our family friend knew immediately something was wrong when he did not return that evening. And music is his life. He was in a band with my parents for 10-15 years, never missed a practice or a gig without a ridiculously good reason. He's missed both since Thursday.

I'm sorry this is so jumpy..I can't think very straight.

Basically. He's missing. No one has any idea where he might be. He's 66, about 6 foot, white hair, mustache and growing a bread. They did and aerial search for his van, no sight. If anyone sees him. Or knows him and might know where he is. Please contact me or the police please! I'll PM you my number if you want. I still have a gville number so it's not long distance.

I bet I'm leaving gaping huge holes in this story..feel free to ask questions.

Rachel

The silver alert says he has a history of blacking out...but he hasn't done that in over 10 years. So I don't know.

Silver Alert issued for man last seen Thursday

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office on Saturday issued a Silver Alert for David Reiser, 66, of Gainesville, who was last heard from via a cell phone conversation with a friend on Thursday.

Reiser has a history of blacking out with no memory of his actions for periods as long as three days at a time, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

He was last known to be driving a green 1998 Ford Windstar van with Florida tag X21GPM.

Reiser is white, 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds and has white hair.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the Sheriff's Office at 955-1818.

With the assistance of Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Missing Endangered Person's Clearinghouse, information has been provided to the Florida Department of Transportation to have a description of Reiser's vehicle broadcast on interstate informational signs.

I work at ASO part-time and I know they are doing everything they can to find your grandfather. The Sheriff definitely made locating your godfather a priority. My prayers are with you that he'll be found safe and sound soon.

Thank you, he's a friend of Sadie's so I'm hoping he's a high priority. I just want him home. I'm going insane 2,000+ miles away while he's missing.

My father was a good friend of David's for many years. When I was sick in the hospital with a brain tumor, he would send me funny cards to make me smile. My sister was a flower girl in his wedding. David will surely be missed. Our prayers go out to his family, and to him in heaven.
