Well last year was the year for rebates in the form of a stimulus check but apparantly this year is the time for tax credits...especially for those who recently lost a job or HAD A BABY in 2008! Hope Jack brings in the cash cause we are out of diapers lol! Good thing his food is free.

Those tax breaks were such a joke! We didn't get one dime as we had "too many deductions" to have enough tax liability! We have deductions like anyone else with kids a house and a work from home/independant contractor would have so I am not sure how we had too many. I don't know more than a handful of people who saw any portion of the checks that were promised last year and none who got 100% as anticipated.

Kids are not quite the tax break they are touted as being, nor is owning a home!! I can sympathize on the cost of diapers and the not "free" food (LOL). I just switched down to a much less expensive diaper today and have to hope they do the job. Zane may also have to go off formula by force, it is getting so expensive to buy groceries and I just forgot the formula today but spent more than we had to spend anyway! Oops!

We only got half the stimulus that we expected (or hoped for I should say) last time. I was surprised when I found out what we were getting so I called & was told our tax liability was too low to get the full amount... I was like, "So, you're saying b/c I'm poor I get less money." The guy told me yea, unfortunately. Makes a lot of sense!

I did get a check for $600 based on my salary at SFCC last year, but this year we are broke due to my SAHM decision (totally worth giving up shopping) so this is the year we need it and from what you're telling me it won't happen. Just like government...stepping in where they're not needed and never around when they are!

Well I don't understand what happened with you aimee and Michelle....we are broke, we were broke last year, and we got the full amount (thank you since we still have some of it). So I guess that means I won't be getting any more Frowner
