Hi guys,
The county just announced it is starting a summer youth basketball program for teens. Here's the link: Heatwave Summer Youth Basketball Program I know how hard it is to find things that our teens want to do in the summer. Registration is going on now. They are also looking for coaches. Residents interested in coaching, please contact Ed Lavagnino at 352-441-0760 or eal2323@yahoo.com. Spread the word. |

Daughter 1994 & son 2000. |
Thanks for the basketball info.
There is a wonderful (annual) British Soccer Camp for kids age 16 and younger being held at Forest Park in Gaiensville, July 14-18. It's a half day camp (5:30 to 8:30 PM to avoid the heat). The cost is reasonable (under $125 w/ tax) and the coaches are all from England and Scotland. Some played semi-professional soccer (Futbol) in their home countries. Each "camper" receives a t-shirt and a soccer ball. My daughter took the camp last summer and LOVED it; she's taking it again this year. The camp is sponsored by YOUTH SOCCER INC, a competitive soccer organization that we are involved with locally. Below is the link for British Soccer Camp, if your child is interested: https://registration.challengersports.com/FindACamp/FindACamp.asp |

Thanks FLNonny (love your name, by the way) for the soccer/futbol entry.
I wish I were a teenager (or at least had a teenager's stamina) to take the class myself. British Soccer in Gainesville. Who knew? |
