Simple question, how many of us are really going to take the time to research and study the differences between our two choices for president this year? Or will we just continue to vote along party lines?
Are there any issues that could swing you one way or another or is there one issue that has become a deal breaker for you? I think middle class women have a far greater voice than we realize. Are we using it to its full potential? |

Wow...how to post without getting on a soapbox
I do research and study....then you listen to the media and think "huh??". I then begin to doubt my own opinions. I will not be voting for Obama...I do not think that McCain is the best republican choice either but I cannot vote for Obama after all that I have learned about him and his associations. Some of these issues I 1st learned on this website...then after researching found out even more. The deal breaker for me with Obama was the Rev Wright issues. Not that that is his worst attribute but before that I was still on the fence. I would learn something about him that I didn't like, then hear something that was ok. But the issues that alarmed me about him just kept coming up. More and more little things he would say and do that had a red flag waving in my subconscious. It seems to me he is trying too hard to 'act' and little things keep slipping through. I am a registered republican but would vote out of my party for the right candidate. |

I am leaning towards McCain. But I am not dead set on that either. To me it's always just voting for the lesser of two evils.
Who knows, maybe I will be so fed up with both of them by November, I will write in my own choice and vote for them...how about Mickey Mouse? Tammy Architect major @SFCC, working my butt off to get into UF. |

hey soapboxes are fine...
i'm just really interested in how much research "real" people do. and i agree that the more i study, they more i feel like what is the point. but i do think that not voting or voting for a third party candidate is really scary. i have to trust that my vote really does count. please don't feel like i'm looking for you to fess us and tell us who you are voting for. i'm curious to see how other women my age and at about the same place in life feel about the upcoming election in general. |

I also have serious doubts about the entire political system-actually not about the system, more about how the system is administered. Can we trust any of them? That being said, I plan to vote and would encourage everyone to do so as I remain hopeful that our vote does count and that there is a possibility for great things to come! I think that for one to vote, one should do the research to ensure one is voting for a candidate that represents one’s interests. Often I hear people complaining of issues, or of things having a negative impact on their quality of life and then I see them voting for the very party/politician that is voting for the issues that put them in the situation they are complaining about. Education is must!!!!!

I see how someone could feel like that is their way of making a statement that neither candidate is the 'best' choice for America, but we need to more realistic than that. It is going to be Obama or McCain..... |
